Hi all, I just got diagnosed with a stage 1 9mm IDC here in the US, after discussion with docs I mostly certain to going to do a mastectomy with reconstruction. Treatment starting soon. We were planning to move to Spain, but with this we are having some second thoughts. will be on DNV so will be covered by public health but I am sure maybe no private insurance will touch me for sometime.
We are planning the move late next year so I can do the major surgery/treatments here, anyone currently receiving treatment from Public Health system in Spain? are the meds covered under the system or we will have to pay it?
Welcome to the forum @kimm .sorry you haven’t had a reply yet , I know there are forum members living in EU hopefully one of them will spot your post and be able yo give you some helpful info . Good luck with your treatment .
I moved a year after finishing treatment and had no trouble getting care through the Spanish public health system once I registered. Just needed my residency papers and health card.
I moved after finishing treatment, and public health covered my follow‑up care without problems. I couldn’t get private insurance either, but regular check‑ups and scans were still easy to arrange.
I moved last month and ended up booking with the best moving company because I wanted everything packed and handled without stressing over it. They took care of my boxes, the loading, and even the unpacking way faster than I expected. The online $50 discount didn’t hurt either, so it kept things budget-friendly while still getting solid service.
I’m going to be moving next month. Hopefully all goes well. Due to my health issues, I’m going to be leaving my family behind, so it’ll be a tough one. Hope so I’ll cope up with this stress with my extravagant hobby being a macbook video editor.
