I am going for my 1st MRI today and I’ve been googling like mad as you can imagine. I came across an American site where a doctor did a great presentation on breast cancer and how they find them. What he said was they MRI ladies on day 5-14 of their cycle as that is the best time to see what’s going on and less chance to miss anything. I have been diagnosed with lobular and I’ve read how it can stay hidden. So I am nowhere near day 5-14, has anyone else had their MRI according to hormone changes?
Nope. Never asked about my menstural cycle at all.
I’m a lobular with dense breast tissue and had to have an MRI as my original tumour could not be seen on a mammogram. I was told I should not have the MRI whilst I was actually bleeding but no other restrictions. Hope it all went well for you today.

I didn’t get my MRI last week, it ended up just being a consultation with surgeon and MRI still to be booked! Still waiting! How are you getting on? I’m in limbo at the moment but putting it to back of my mind. Soon enough cancer and treatment is going to take over my life for a bit, I can’t change anything now so my feeling is don’t let it take over any earlier than need be.
Good way to approach it Powdow. I’m actually doing okay. I finished active treatment at the end of March. Apart from hot flushes with Tamoxifen and some tiredness I’m feeling better than I thought I would at this stage. I clearly remember being at the stage you are at now ten months ago - it is the hardest time I think. Once you get started on the treatment path things get easier, mentally at least. I can’t believe where the last ten months have gone - a bit of a blur really but apart from a few minor issues I’m feeling pretty optimistic. Wishing you lots of luck - keep in touch and let us know how you get on.
