MRI guided biopsy

Has anyone here had an MRI-guided breast biopsy? I’ve been referred for one up in London and am nervous as I have hated the ‘normal’ biopsies I have had so far.

Hi @brighton765
The MRI biopsy is less invasive than surgical biopsy , it can be uncomfortable for a while you lay on your tummy and breasts in a cup thing that’s how mine was done a few years ago , not sure if it’s changed since , I had headphones on listened to music to take my mind off it
Good luck you will be fine Xx

Hi, I had one. I had to lie on my side and wheeled me under the machine. Area numbed. As they were about to take the biopsy, they warned me I would hear a click and not to jump. All done quickly. They applied pressure to wound for 15 minutes and put steristrip and dressing. Probably not much worse than going for a filling at the dentist. I did end up with a large purple bruise though. Got results 7 days later. Unfortunately a cancer diagnosis, but well on the mend now. Good luck x
