How often does everyone have a MRI scan ? I had one last November but they have now called me for another. I am a bit concerned because the last PET scan showed NED. Is this normal?

Hi Lambin,
My mum has MRI and CT scans every 3 months. On the one hand they come round too quickly and I get all anxious about them. So for two months I’m good and chilled when they come back as stable, then the month before I start panicking!!!
However, on the other hand it’s positive, because if there are any changes or progression they can pick it up sooner and treat it. I know she’s not being neglected. They are on it.
If going through chemo (as I was) I had 3 scans - over the 3 months of treatment (purely to see if the treatment was reducing the size of the tumors if the chemo is seen to be not working they sometimes stop the treatment and bring the next course of treatment forward.
Talk to the appointed breast care nurse they can offer more information.
