I just wanted to let you know that after my gloomy posting earlier in the week about the start of my rads I am feeling much better.
Monday and Tuesday I was feeling a bit wobbly but it gradually got better the rest of the week and each session doesn’t seem too bad, very quick in fact. I try counting once they leave me on my own and only get up to around 100.
Glad you’re feeling brighter, one week done only two to go. It does look like the majority of people have surgery chemo and rads and i think depending on which way round you have them depends which one affects / irritates (if i can use that word) you the most.
You are absolutely allowed to be hacked off some days and posting on here is the best way to go 'cos somebody will understand.
Rads last just feels like ‘can i really do this?’ and for me it was the only part of my treatment where i was on my own, only briefly but it did give me time for thoughts to run away with themselves. (I had Chemo before surgery so for both of them i was surrounded by lovely positive Chemo Nurses / onc / surgeon and then lovely care staff on the ward after surgery). Staff in Rads were lovely too but it did feel like a very brusque process and they have to leave you.
I had to practice deep breathing to keep my anxiety in check whilst waiting to go in for rads. Looks like you are having 15, i did and after number 8 i did cartwheels (on my way to meet friend for afternoon tea) 'cos i was more than half done…
Hope you are having a lovely weekend Mary and taking good care of yourself, will be thinking of you this week. You can do it…
