Pain isn’t usually a symptom of breast cancer, but can be. She should get it checked out. My breast pain was caused by fibrocystic changes, that means the breast gets more fibrous, this then squeezes small nerves in the breast causing pain. There are some treatments that can ease it, they often prescribe evening primrose oil. This made no difference to my breast pain but it’s worth a try, but don’t self prescribe, your mother should go to a breast clinic after a trip to her GP.

The technical term for breast pain is mastalgia and it is very common.
