Hi brownhair123

I am sorry to read of your Mum’s diagnosis. Whilst you wait for the other forum users to reply with their advice and support it may help for you to get the BCC resources pack. It has been designed for those who have been recently diagnosed and has lots of information which you and your Mum might find helpful.

Thank you Sam, i have ordered this publication along with some others which looked useful.

I am so sorry to hear about your Mum. I think the best advice I can give is to take each stage as it comes. It can be a very long and arduous haul but if you take it in bite-sized chunks it doesn’t seem such an unending process. One stage leads naturally to the next. The treatment can be very debilitating - but as many people say it is “doable”. Some fly through treatment with very few problems, some don’t. It is impossible to predict how your Mum will be.
I have a toddler and needed lots of help with the day to day chores of life when I was going through chemo. Practical help was key. The thing you need most though, I think, is lots and lots of love and understanding.
Good luck to your Mum. And to you - it is scary to have a poorly Mum.
