my mum has recently been diagnosed with secondary brain mets
she was given the all clear from her breast cancer just 4 months before her second diagnosis.
im looking for people with similar stories that can offer a bit of hope thanks xxx

hi there just 4 months after my treatment ended i have been dx with lung mets, its so unfair after all that treatment to think thats it then it comes back so quick!!!
ive had a bad head for weeks but fortunatly my mri brain scan is clear just waiting for bone scan results next week, there is so much out there to help control so chin up i was in a dark place last week but have now crawled out of that hole and gonna fight this with all i have, bring it on!!!

Sorry to hear of your Mum’s diagnosis. It really is awful news for you all. Just to add to the link from Belinda here’s another site exclusively for people with brain mets, on here you will find encouraging stories of people surviving for long periods of time with brain mets.

in addition to this UK site I also go on another forum
breastcancer.org this is an international site and there appear to be more people on here who are being treated for Brain mets for long periods of time.

You don’t mention secondaries anywhere else, are they exclusive to the brain?
More hospitals are now offering targeted radiotherapy treatments to the brain, others more knowledgeable about these procedures will hopefully be along soon to advise you.
