Hi Boo

Just wondered how you are getting on? I still don’t seem to have any adverse reaction to Arimidex after nearly two weeks. Rads are going fine as well.

Onwards and upwards!

So Boo

We both need to know how you are doing? I am still skinny from chemo, thank the lord. But it is the Arimidex I need to know about!

Ok, I have made myself eat only three meals a day. I have porridge for breakfast because now is the time of year when one needs warming up in the morning. I mash a banana in it…yummy.

Lunch and dinner… three quarters of the plate is salad /vegetables then I have cut down on meat and always have some carbs… usually two slices of rye bread with marg on them. After evey meal I eat a pice of fruit, but if it is clementines for the day then I have two…mmm…

and NO SNACKING. I make myself go out everyday for a walk and once a week I go swimming.

That is all I am doing and have lost 6 kg so far so very pleased. Although I do have a cold at the moment so trying to eat is not the most fun thing in the world.

Well done Boo! You are doing great. And how are you doing on the tablets?

Sounds a very sensible healthy eating plan. I love porridge. I make it with water and cool it with milk and add sultanas to it before I cook it.

I am not sure how I am getting on with the pills actually…LOL. I take them at night and I have had achy legs during the day but could this be because I have not used them as much as I usually do and am now trying to do too much?

Ooh, porridge…make mine with milk no salt…no sugar…mmmm…could go for a bowl now…mmmmmmm

Hallo Boo

If you can’t blame the pills then you are probably ok my love. As my mum always said, never stop doing anything until you have to! Used to drive me nuts but she had a good point.

Much love and sleep tight

Read the download on this site re the menopause. It explained so much about the effect Tamoxifen has on your body. I really think that this should be given out with the Tamoxifen leaflet. It’s on this page (hope I have done this right)

Hi All

Just popped my first Tamoxifen this morning! I was really nervous about it, so far so good but it hasn’t been long.

Is nausea a common side effect? Please I hope not!

Cecelia. x

I don’t think so Cecelia although some women suffer with it. I occasionally feel nauseous “completely out of the blue”, hours after I have taken it but it lasts literally a minute and I don’t know if it is the Tamoxifen or not.

If you haven’t gone through the menopause, read this leaflet

It is brilliant. I wish I had seen it when first taking Tam

oh, I’ve read some of you are getting restless achy legs… got really bad cramps and restless legs, and have been adding magnesium pills everyday, and they seem to really make a difference…

Oh my word, don’t mention restless legs. I got them before my diagnosis and sometimes it drives me mad at night!

Is magnesium good for this Lilith?

Cecelia. x

Lilith

That is really strange as I bought a bottle of magnesium tablets yesterday as I read they helped with monthly problems and thought they would help hot flushes. I don’t get cramp too much now except in my feet when I stretch my legs but I do get restless legs. My 70 year old has never had this and doesn’t know what I mean!!! I did also have a pack of flax seed then read that it was “bursting with phyto oestrogens” so they went back on the shelf. The only thing that concerns me is that I take multi vits which also contain mag at 33% of the RDA so if I take both, I will be getting 133% of RDA. And what about mag naturally found in your diet??? Does anyone know the answer?
