I have been reading threads and old threads on here this morning. I even commented on someone asking about their seroma. Anyway had some lunch. Just vacuumed the stairs and the landing. Came back down to go back on here before I attempt the bedroom. Put my hand on my back and all the fluid has completely gone. Not one single bit of it left. No wobble, no flobby bits (unless you count the fat!!!). I can’t believe it. And feel so happy. Sad I know. Just the chemo to look forward to now!!!
Happy for you too! Mine is still filling up, but it’s stopped leaking - I have a gentle sloshing from breastbone all the way across to armpit. Drat, does this mean I have to go and do some housework to get it to stop??
Congratulation! I’m glad that is gone! How long ago did you had your operation?
I’m having LD recon this Thursday, possibility of seroma complication really worries me.
Foxy Chick. I have my surgery with LD flap in the 2 Jan. Had 3 drains in. 1 was removed after 5 days, the other two after 7 days. I went home on the 9th Jan. My surgeon said it reaches its peak around week 4 after surgery. It is now 4 and a half weeks after surgery. Let him off for half a week eh? It did go quite big about the size of both my hands flat out side by side on my back. But it wasn’t painful or sore or hot to touch (which can show signs of infection). But it was hard work sleeping at night trying to find a comfortable position which was squashing it flat!!! I was advised that unless absolutely necessary don’t have it drained. It will come back again and your body needs to learn to absorb again which it won’t do if you keep having it drained. Also there is a risk of infection if you drain it. Good luck with your op and that it all goes well. You won’t be in any pain at all don’t worry on that front.
