Hi
Had my first Epi a week ago - not too bad but the nausea was extreme the first day. Since then I keep feeling sick in sort of waves. I didn’t take the back up medicine as it didn’t seem too extreme but getting fed up now. How long does it last? Bands are helping I think but they make my hand sore!
Hi jewjew,
I recently started chemo, and had EC nearly 2 weeks ago. I also felt very nauseous the first evening, but did have 2 lots of anti-sickness pills, the first one to be taken for the first few days after EC, the other to be ad-hoc whenever I felt I needed it. I took the first lot, but haven’t taken may of the others. I felt a sort of “motion sickness” for the first 3 or 4 days, I was ok sat down, but not when I moved around. I also felt a bit washed-out, not tired exactly, but I had no energy. This has now passed, and in fact this weekend I’ve felt totally fine (so that would be 10 days after chemo) Hope that helps, and hope you soon feel better!
Sending hugs and best wishes
Shannon

Hi jewjew,
Had my first FEC last Tuesday 28 Aug. Felt really sick by 5.00pm that evening and nausea in waves until Saturday. Back to work today and feeling tired but ok. Took all the pills plus about 3 of the back up ones. If it’s on offer, take it,I say!
Have found I am off tea and wine and can only drink water, which is probably no bad thing.
Hope you find it passes soon and you are feeling more like your old self.
Love Elizabeth xx
Hi jewjew
Had my first FEC last Wednesday 29th Aug. Felt quite nauseated and unwell that evening - and was sick once. Day 2+3+4 I was feeling under the weather and quite poisoned and spent the majority of my time in bed. Today (day 5) I’ve been almost back to normal, feeling fine but still quite tired. Like elizabeth I took all the antiemetics as prescribed. Hope it eases on you real soon. Best wishes

Hi Jewjew
I have finished FEC chemo 5 weeks ago and I still now and then feel sick, I was really sick during chemo, it is best to take the meds even if you dont feel you need them as once sickness starts its harder to stop if they arnt working ask for them to be changed…
best wishes

Hi Jewjew
I do feel nauseous on and off for the 3 week duration in between chemo but as I am very vigilant about my anti nausea medication, it never gets too bad. It does seem to intensify the more chemos in I am, I’m 11 days after my 4th session now. It’s usually the worst on the 10-14 day low immunity period, yesterday was day 10 and I felt very sick. But not so bad that I couldn’t come to work, I have an extra supply of domperidone which keeps it at bay.
Hope you improve soon.

Thanks everyone for those tips. I am back on the anti sickness pills but they make me feel sooooo tired. Not sure which is the worse. Looks like two of you started the same week as me I was 28th August, Happy Days…
Hi Jewjew,
when I first started Epi, although reluctant, I did find I had to take my additional anti-sickness meds on occassions. I was getting fed up with the nausea, albeit mild, and decided not to suffer in silence. My additional meds are Domperidone and they were great! I could take up to 4 a day but found I only ever needed to take one,
Take care,
Kelly
