Nausea on Tamoxifen/Work Stress

Hi All

I swapped from letrozole and zoladex in August where my oncologist told me to have a break for a month. I am now on Tamoxifen which I started mid September.

The last couple of days I really haven’t felt well. I am having  palpitations, feeling  fatigued and I am feeling extremely nauseous. My hot flushes have been terrible so I tried venflaxine yesterday. But don’t think it was that, that made me feel unwell as I wasn’t well before.

I am working from home at the moment and I had to get into bed in the afternoon with my laptop. I felt that poorly.

I phoned my GP practice yesterday but I can’t get an appointment until next Thursday. At that it would only be a telephone consultation. The last time I called my GP practice (a few weeks ago) I was told purchase a blood pressure monitor as when I went to have my zomata infusion my blood pressure and temperature were high. I took my blood pressure yesterday and it was 149/81.

On too of all this a few weeks ago I was being out under a lot of pressure by a new manager to go into work. When works policy is to work from home. I have had a lot of snide comments too from the same person. Work has had a letter from my GP to work from home has I am classed as vulnerable. I have had a mediation meeting with HR, head of department and the new manager. I have had an apology however no apology for the other nasty comments, as there hasn’t been a witness.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much xx

Hi

I am so sorry to hear about your awful work stress from your new manager, this is really unacceptable. Is there anyone you can speak to about this ? This must be making everything else much worse. I had alot of stress earlier in the year and it gave me headaches and i ended up at ENT because i was finding it hard to swallow, it was all stress related.

Regarding the Tamoxifen, have you tried two doses per day of 10mg, one in the morning and one in the evening? That really helped me to cope with the side effects and they are now far milder.

Good luck, imagine that you are Wonder Woman and blast this new manager of yours into space with your magic wrist cuffs!
