I am nearly 12 months down the line from this big surgery which followed chemo, db mastectomy, rads and a year of herceptin!
I still feel very uncomfortable in the stomach area where a new naval was created it bulges and I still wear my M@S support under ware I can’t bear to be without it I feel it is holding me together!!! Has anyone else experienced this? I saw the surgeon a few months ago and she said it was because she had moved everything around inside!!!

i am 12 weeks post double diep and my stomach is uncomfortable.
it feels like I’m carrying around a piece of concrete it is hard and protrudes making a little sort of pot belly!
it feels like my muscle it’s hard to touch.
its making my recovery quite slow I think.

Definitely massage daily. I’m 10-12 weeks post DIEP and saw my surgeon yesterday. He said massage is the key, I need to release the scar tissue so he can do some lipofilling in 6-9 months to improve a huge dent caused by pec muscle scar tissue.
Love my M&S pants! Can’t imagine wearing skimpy knickers again!!

I have spoken to my sister for you, she had the Diep in August, she is still wearing - she calls them her Bridget Jones knickers, her PS advised her to wear them for as long as pos because of the scar, her scar is incredible it is so so flat, however she told me she met a girl who did not wear her knickers for very long and her scar bulges. I asked her about the sensation you are having, she said she understands what you are saying but, keep wearing the knickers, what did the PS advise?? What location in UK did you have the surgery?
