Hi it’s almost a year since my WLE and lymph node removal on November 8th 2017 I also had 15 rads in February this year. I just wondered when I would receive an appointment for my mammogram check up. Do they send you one out with plenty of notice? I have a holiday already booked during the 2nd week of November so i am concerned they will send me for it then. Can you just alter the date to suit? Thanks for any help with this.??

In my opinion,  as different places may vary and you may get various responses to your query,  Just ring the Breast Services clinic at the hospital you were at and ask them when you are due for review etc. If it is due in November,  then you could let them know dates to avoid.   You may even be put through to the Mammogram Appointments and find you are on their list for a future appointment so you could then sort the appointment date directly. 

 

If you did get a date that fell during your holiday,  you should be able to change it as with any other aappointmen.

Hi Ali,
My yearly mammo always coincides with our annual holiday, so I just give the radiography office a ring & re-schedule so that it’s done prior to my appointment with the surgeon. I have found them to be very accommodating about it. My appointment generally comes through around the anniversary of diagnosis, which is Feb for me.

Hi Alibobs, isn’t it strange how trusts differ depending where you are in the country??
I got my invite for my one year mammogram for 2019 not long after my surgery results in May and also my clinical review appointment for November 2019 as well. Organised or what!!
So get in touch with your BCN and get those appointments booked in xxx

I was diagnosed on 13/09/17 and I received my first check up date as 26/09/18.  I only received this appointment last week.

Thanks for your replies!! I rang the unit and after being passed from pillar to post finally spoke to a secretary who at first attempt said j wasn’t on the system!!! She then proceeded to put me through to someone else without telling her what in was calling about so I had to go through the whole story again. Anyway upshot was she found my details and said they will send me letter nearer the time. Told her the dates I wouldn’t be available so she’s noted them. Just await the letter now!!!??
