Hi I’m new to this group. Last week I had my breast clinic appointment saw a lovely nurse practitioner had a feel and she said I think it’s a cyst. So I went to the next waiting room for my mammogram and ultrasound I get called for my mammogram and the lady wouldn’t say anything to what I asked I went back to the waiting room I get called for my ultrasound. Straight away the nurse said it’s not a cyst I will do biopsies she then said I’m going to put markers in. I went back to a little waiting area and get called in again by the nurse practitioner and she look at me and said your lymph nodes look clear at the moment bit you will be having an operation. I was in shock I said will I see you when I come back for the results she said no a constant/ surgeon will be seeing you . I was in shock and didn’t ask anything but I since have spoken with my cousin and friend who have been through this and they both said the same that I’ve been told what it is without the c word please tell me what you think I think there right just 2 weeks wait now thanks for reading this xx

Waiting for results is the worst bit. About 75-80% of biopsies are not cancer. You have done the best thing getting it checked and there are lots of treatments available if it turns out to be bad news.
Let us know how you get on at your results appointment.
I can only re iterate the post from bluetit11. Without the pathology they will not be able to confirm anything. The majority of biopsies do not result in malignancy.
Waiting for results and appointments is the absolute worst part of your journey through the breast care unit. I know it is difficult but try to remain positive and keep yourself occupied and look after yourself

Ok. So Let’s look at the positives. You’re not showing anything in the lymph, which is really important. Also, having markers is a bit shocking, but they do that so that in future when you have a mammogram they will see the titanium chips and know this is flagged.
It is probably standard protocol that the surgeon sees you in 2 weeks. Until the results are in, and until the Multi Disciplinary Team have discussed your case, there is still no evidence that you have cancer. They won’t know this until the results are back.
This part of the process is really really bloody tough. We all get it and we are all standing shoulder to shoulder with you. Nothing I say or do will make you worry less, or stop you from feeling stress.
But, whatever the outcome, just hang on to the fact that they’ve said there is no lymph action. That is important.
