Well hi everyone, I’m sure like everyone here I didn’t expect to be here, especially in my 30s.
A little background, I was diagnosed with DCIS after a history of cysts in April.
Since then it’s been a lot of waiting and tests. A recent MRI picked up another suspicious area so I’m now waiting on a biopsy of that before confirming surgery.
I suppose my main concern at the moment is that I presented with a palpable lump (MRI shows this to be 18mm with suspicious area taking it up to 33mm)…it seems that presenting with a mass means it’s more likely to be invasive and not DCIS which I realize will be confirmed after surgery). I just can’t get my head around it being diagnosed as stage 0 when it’s likely to be stage 2.
I feel like so much is in limbo. It will over 2 months from diagnosis to operation and then a wait post op to find out what’s what
