Hi, I have been diagnosed with dcis and wondered if I will be able to wear my usual under wire bra after surgery, which is scheduled for July, or should I buy a new soft bra? When will I know whether I will require further treatment after surgery as my dcis is intermediate grade and is 28cm in size?
Hi Annie59, I had a M&S zip front racer back bra post op, went couple sizes up because of swelling after op. Do speak to your bc nurse that you’ve been allocated and see what they say I’m sure others will be along and offer other tips too

i has surgery for dcis last year and I also bought a from zip bra from
m and s to wear after surgery. This was recommended by my surgeon. Since then I only wear the special bras from m and s which are not wired but have a strong band which supports just as well. Hope that helps

I bought the M&S sports/mastectomy bra after having lymph node surgery prior to mastectomy. I could not imagine the discomfort of a wired bra and have not worn one now since February 2020. My mastectomy was March 2020. I got a seroma and had to put dressings to absorb fluid So I bought the crop tops which are really comfortable and offer good support. I had DIEP flap reconstruction. I do not know the answer to your question about further treatment. Your breast care nurse from MacMillan is the person to answer this I think
