I was just wondering if anyone left their job that they were doing before they were diagnosed and started a new one once you were ready to return to work? Obviously with a new job you wouldn’t be able to phase in and I just wondered how you found it?
I’ve had good luck cleaning up old cluttered resumes by rebuilding them with Modern CV, since the real-time preview makes it easy to fix formatting fast. The templates are already ATS-friendly, so I didn’t have to fight with weird spacing or broken sections. I also liked that I could download the PDF instantly without making an account, which saved me time while applying.
@twinks77 I will be facing this & it’s terrifying. No clue how I’m going to feel on AIs & if I’m going to have the energy to work the way I used to. Also don’t want stress anymore!
Definitely feeling this! I started a new job that I really wanted just after diagnosis and I’m kind of struggling with it because I think my outlook on life has changed so much in such a short space of time due to my cancer diagnosis that it maybe just doesn’t suit me anymore. I feel stuck to change it right now though as I’m waiting on an oncology appointment for adjuvant chemo which will last at least a few months.
I leaned on some career info here while figuring out the steps for moving into healthcare admin, and it helped me map out the degree and certification path without overthinking it. The salary ranges and growth outlook gave me a clearer picture of what to expect, so pairing that with real work experience made the whole process feel more doable.
