new LCIS

anyone out there with bi-lateral LCIS. I am to have double mastectomy tomorrow and wonder what is in stall for me

Hi Viktoria

Wishing you strength and comfort for tomorrow and will be thinking of you.

Have not had experience of bi-lat but did have single mast.In my case they booked me in and arked my skin with the intended incision lines. I waited in the operating “lounge” until summoned, taken to operating ante room, knocked out and woke up in recovery 6 hours later.I was given a “pump” for pain relief and slept heavily all night, though i had a lot of bleeding and was sweaty i was not in much pain. Like most people I felt scared and disbelief before the op and both shock and relief immediately after the op. I found that physically the pain relief was good but emotionally i was unprepared for feeling such loss. If your loved ones let you have the space it is the time you may want a little cry, however there is a lot of pressure to “be positive”.

Wishing you every best wish possible

Love
