New lump and GPs respond

Hi I’m 38 no history of Bc in family

I have found a lump in my left breast at the weekend

Seen my Gp on Monday and she felt it she said it wasn’t a hard lump she said it felt more like fiborous tissue like gristle you’d get on chicken

She said to me she didn’t think it felt like a cancerous lump it wasn’t hard or craggy?

She was reluctant to refer me as she wanted to see me again after my cycle to see if it went away but then she said she would as she could see I was worried.

She didn’t refer me on the 2ww as she said it would be down graded when the hospital triaged it. So she put me down as an urgent referral but not red flag (I’m in NI)

I left feeling happy but have now over thought it all too much should I have pushed for a 2ww?

:heart: if your not happy about that go see another gp and demand refural and any delays caused by them if anything is found you will hold them accountable and go to a solicitor for negligence. Do what’s right for you :heart: :two_hearts::two_hearts::sparkles::sparkles:Shi xx

Dear Lath88,

Welcome to the forum, so pleased you have posted, we are all around for you.
I total agree with Shi, If your worrying and not happy with your GP Comments you need to push, for what is needed. Please don’t feel you are being a nuisance or speaking out of turn.

Wishing you well, hopefully a good outcome.

Hugs Tili :pray::rainbow::pray::rainbow:

Definitely push for two week referral. Your GP cannot feel whether it is cancer or not!!!

I can understand why you’re not happy but if you are worried about antagonizing your GP you could contact the hospital and ask roughly how long it will be and say that you are happy to take a cancellation . You could recheck it again yourself after your period and if it hasn’t gone down then go back and say that you want your referral escalated to urgent . Best of luck xx
