New lump, scared

Hi Blackheath, thank you  it certainly is horrible.

Hi Debs, my onc team are as disgusted with the lab as I am. I really canā€™t see how this could have happened, they must surely have protocols in place to prevent this kind of thing. My BCN called me tonight to give me my scan results and say she was on them to get the issue resolved.

Hi Linda, my BCN team are really uhappy with the lab in fairness, donā€™t know if it is better or worse, but my healthcare treatment is private, so I paid them to screw it up (possibly) :))

My BCN kindly called me tonight to tell me the prelim scan results, bless her. The existing tumours have actually reduced a little more which is WONDERFUL news as I was expecting them to have grown and the treatment to not be working anymore, yet it is. Which leaves a quandry for the team.

1 slice of the scan on my breastbone showed an abnormality, but very very small any only around 2mm and it is actually in the bone. So, they can only wait to see what happens to this lump and there is a big ? mark over why all the other tumours have continued to reduce yet whatever this is has grown. I raised the 20% can change pathology and they think this is possible, but until we have something big enough to sample there is not a lot we can do.

So, for now I get a short chemo break, details to be discussed next Thursday when I see my Onc.

Thanks to all of you for your posts and support, it is so very much appreciated.

So pleased to hear that your scan results are on the whole really good - shame that there is always that ā€œbutā€ but hopefully this abnormality that has shown up is indeed just a bit of an oddity and nothing to worry about. The fact that the others have shrunk more is just great though.

Still canā€™t quite believe the mess up from the lab.

Really enjoy your chemo break.
