New to all this

I have posted this on behalf of new user Anne
Jo, Facilitator

I was given a diagnosis Monday of last week and go to see the surgeon later today. I live in Dewsbury West Yorkshire and although I have friends who are very caring and being supportive I still feel on my own with this. I am a widow. It’s 11.45 and my appointment is at 2 and I’m feeling very nervous right now even though my attitude all along has been positive and ‘I’ve got it so must get it sorted’.

Hi Ann

I don’t live very far away from you. I live in Huddersfield.

This is a wonderful site and you can always get support from us all

I am 12 months post diagnosis which included lumpectomy, Rads and now Zoladex.

I will look out for your messages. Please let us know how you have gone on today?

Hugs

Hi Kay,
Thanks for responding - I’m not used to forums on websites so hope my posting a comment gets to you! Well the specialist says I need an MRI scan to see if there are (or many) threads from the core that showed up on the mammogram. He says that depending on the number of threads etc he may be able to do a lumpectomy or I might need more extensive surgery and only the MRI will help him see what’s what. So now I wait for the scan appointment but feel less worried now that he has talked with me.

Hi Anne

Got your message. Glad you feel better today now you have spoken to your con. Take one day at a time and don’t be so hard on yourself. We all worry about the unknown! The waiting is so hard and imagination can be a terrible thing!!!

Speak soon take care
