I am 34 and mum to two young children 3 and 5. I was diagnosed with BC in July 2009 and have had mastectomy and Lymph nodes removed. On cycle 3 of chemo and will follow with radiotherapy. 1 of the 3 lumps close to chest wall. In the past few weeks I have developed alot of discomfort in my rib cage and am worried sick. Seeing oncologist next week to check things out. Did anyone else get chest pain as a side effect to their chemo?
hi katie jane, sorry you had to join us on here. i have just finished my chemo last week and i can tell you that myself and some other ladies i talk to on here did suffer with chest pains following chemo sessions. i was worried till others told me they suffered the same. I think a lot is to do with the mastectamy but i know some who havn’t had that but still suffered the chest pains. so try now to worry, but you probably will. Hope this helps put your mind at rest. Which chemo are you on? i noticed pains probably about 3rd fec and then during the 3 tax. Check out a thread i started called ‘advice on taxotar’ (i might of spelt tax wrong but you will find it) there is lots of good advice on there and somewhere in the middle we talked about chest pains.
