Hello everyone,
So I have been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer ER 8/8, PR 4/8 Her-2 neg.
MRI scan also showed three lesions in the liver.
Initially I was told they were benign.
My case was referred to Hammersmith MDT team, who now confirm that it is cancer.
The appearances of these three lesions are unusual for necrotic metastasis.
Initial diagnosis was 11/3/19. Confirmation of liver was 1/5/19.
I was due to start IV chemo on the 2/5/19…8cycles in total. 4 cycles of EC and 4 cycles of Docetaxol.
Instead I was given Zoladex 3.6mg on the 1/5/19, with letrozole starting on the 15/5/19 and Palbociclib on the 29/5/19.
They are so confident it is secondary cancer so say no need for biopsy.
My mother passed away from breast cancer 35years ago in March.
i have requested a second opinion via my GP.
Any suggestions, please.
Thank you?
Hi Niriksha,
A warm welcome & glad you found us, although sorry to see you here.
Obviously, it’s best to be as well informed as possible & good to hear you’re getting a second opinion to help clarify things for you.
I don’t have a secondary diagnosis, so can’t advise specifically, but I take it this has been confirmed from what you say.
If you haven’t already, do have a look at Living With Secondary Breast Cancer where the lovely ladies there will be able to advise, especially in relation to treatments. Most of us here, are diagnosed with a primary bc initially.
There is also the helpline here if you need further advice & support.
Sending hugs

Hi Niriksha and welcome to the forum. I just want to ditto what Ann has said, it’s worth getting a second opinion and definitely chat with others on the secondaries thread as they will have lots of useful knowledge. I was stage 3 at diagnosis with lymph mets to 9/12 nodes and my liver lesion turned out to be a hermangioma (I didn’t have a liver biopsy). Sending hugs. Xx
