As a 17-year bc survivor, I hate to say it but I miss the camaraderie of the bc forums. When I was diagnosed in 2006, it was the participants in the Susan Komen Forum who got me through. I’ll never forget those people.
Now, a new friend of mine is going through the initial stages of the bc journey. She’s had a lumpectomy and is waiting on learning about her next steps.
How can I help her?
Hi @mlbcsurvivor

So sorry to hear about your friend who is starting her breast cancer journey.

Dear mob survivor,
Firstly, we done to you for getting this far, I think you are already help your lovely friend by coming to this forum for help and advise.
There is always offer of help and advice on the site, as we have all been there, we are here for you and your friend, I would say a caring person is so important when going through breast cancer, good listener, nice walk in the park, and a lovely cup of tea, being with someone who has got some knowledge of what’s happening to you goes a long way.
Wishing you and your friend, health and happiness going forward
When your friend has completed her treatment she could enrol in the moving forward course which I found excellent.
Big hugs Tili ???
Thank you, Tili! (I love the “cup of tea” idea. It’s soooo British! [I live across the Pond in Virginia Beach, but the more I learn about the UK and your customs and well, just your care for human beings, the more I want to know.])
I want to do all I can without being too pushy. I will be sure to do a lot of listening without offering too much advice as I know this is her journey. And, I will be coming here to the forum to get ideas as any sticky problems arise.
You’re a gem! ml
