New To This Breast Cancer Business

Hi All

So my names Emily, I’m 28 and from a little town called Wigan. I was diagnosed in July with stage 1 grade 3 triple negative breast cancer. Since my diagnosis I’ve had such an amazing support network with my family and friends but somehow can’t help but feel like I’m massively alone at times. With my town being small the amount of women who are my age that are diagnosed is few and far between (not that I wish this upon anyone!) however I’m yet to meet anyone who I can 100% relate to.

I’d love to chat to others with the possibility of a meet up at some point in the future as even though my friends are an awesome group of people I’d love to make some new ones who know exactly what I’m going through. There’s only so many times people can say “it’ll be ok” to me!

Would love to hear from you lovely bunch ?

Love and positive vibes

Your lobsided warrior friend

I know you have posted on the Younger Women section but I just wanted to say hello and welcome to the forum, not really a place any of us would want to be but it is a place where you will get loads of help and support from the wonderful ladies on here who know exactly what you are going through and get you.

Sending you hugs

Hi Emily
I’m not from your area and I am older than you at 37 very similar diagnosis I was never given a stage but I am also grade three tripple negative
On Facebook there is a group called younger breast cancer network and also a tripple negative warrior page
They are fab and again have people who understand
It’s very difficult to relate to friends and family all though they do try they don’t really get it
I was diagnosed in August and the whirlwind journey continues xx

Hi Emily, I’ve just turned 30 and found out I have bc 3 weeks ago. I have just been to see the Fertility clinic and have a lumpectomy booked in for the 4th. I’m still undecided about chemo as the oncologist has said she Is 60/40 but I haven’t had any children yet so I’m petrified about Fertility. I’m from Huddersfield and feel the same as you everyone is great around me but just need some buddies who are going through the same thing x

Hi Emily,

I know this is an old post but just in case you still see it!

I am 32, a mum of two and live in Wigan. I was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative breast cancer in November. I am currently halfway through chemo (I go to the cancer care centre at Wigan, do you?). Then this will be followed by surgery.

It would be nice to chat to local ladies my age who are going through similar. Like you I am lucky to have a fantastic group of family and friends who have been amazing. But it would be nice to talk to people who are going through this experience too.

Love and PMA

Alison
