Hi, I was diagnosed with estrogen receptor positive in may 2023. 2 x less than 2mm lumps were found and thought to be something that mimicked cancer cells however after biopsy 2 cancer cells were found.
I had a large exertion lumpectomy and some lymph nodes removed followed by 5 rounds of radiotherapy.
I was put on letrozole in October 2023 and since my treatment finished the joint pain and stiffness in my knees and feet/ ankles is horrendous. I had an xray and bloods taken last week. The bloods are fine and show no sign of inflammation so I’m hoping the xray will show what’s going on but reading the forum articles I really think it is the Letrozole so am I going to have to live with the constant pain
sorry you are in pain, I’m hoping any others on letrozole can pop on and maybe offer some help sorry I am unable to I was tnbc Shi xx
Hi there
I was diagnosed with lobule cancer in January24 and have now had surgery and radiotherapy with boosts. I’m on Letrazole. My joints were not with out pain before my breast cancer but I’m very aware they have got worse. Most mornings I’m stiff and uncomfortable and force myself to go for a walk and over the last few months I am starting to feel the benefit of the exercise building my muscles up a bit and getting myself moving. I confess I struggle with it… not a natural keep fit queen… but it does help and I can’t imagine not taking medication and living with fear of reoccurrence risk. I’m awaiting a bone scan for hip pain in case of secondary’s but feel hopeful this is enhanced pain from oral medication. Everything is a constant fear these days questioning joint pains / how breasts feel after radiotherapy etc - it’s a minefield.
