Major surgery ??? Like you feeling confused and a bit mixed up I am also a wobbly Christian I live in central Scotland and now feel I would like some kind of outside Cancer support anyone out there
Hi, I’m sorry to ask this but I have just told I have the same. What is WLE and SNB. I think I might have to have a masectomy and definate lymph nodes out. Is this the same as you. Sorry to be a bit dim and hope you are ok. Love Suzanne xxx
I hope you are all doing ok and coping. I was diagnosed High grade DCIS 22/11 had WLE 11/12/13 and informed 23/12/13 not got enough margin, pushing for me to have a mastectomy with immediate reconstruction and biopsy of lymph nodes. I am totally confused as to diagnosis, as it appears across all my breast and need a lot more removing, as small nothing much left of breast anyway. There lies the confusion. I thought it was contained in the ducts, so why spread and if does surely it is invasive - if it is so big and maybe in my node, surely it is not DCIS but invasive now maybe IDC and more likely to spread which is a great concern. Surgeon is adamant it is still DCIS pre cancerous. Any thoughts/views?
Also I understand Hull Royal Infirmary has the new MRI equipment the same as that used in Japan it is installed now and training commenced - this means those with precancerous or stage 1 are good candidates to be zapped to kill off all cells and no invasive surgery or mx - does anyone know any more about this? Success or outcomes for patients? How to access treatment?
