Newly diagnosed complex

Good morning everyone

I’m very new here and haven’t really known what to say but I’m wondering if anyone has a similar diagnosis and what the plan was for you?

At 40 years old this year I made the decision to have the BRCA genetic testing which came back BRCA2 positive. Unfortunately, during the wait for the results, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in the left breast. I had been feeling extremely tired and generally unwell since April/May this year and had what looked like a slight bruise/prominent vein close to the surface of the skin but I didn’t expect it to be this :woman_facepalming:t3:

The primary tumor, 50mm, and the smaller one, are ER/PR/HER2 positive, while the metastatic lymph nodes are ER/PR positive but HER2 negative. The doctors say it’s rare and has caused a divide in how to move forward to effectively treat. I feel from diagnosis 9 weeks ago, I’m no further forward.

I understand there’s so much to learn in the medical field and feel very accepting that it may take some trial and error to treat but I’m concerned at 9 weeks in my case is being discussed over and over at MDT meetings with no solution in terms of treatment or surgery being put in place. Even if it is trial, it would be something.

I just feel like I’m losing hope. My mum (63) and both of her sisters (38 and 45) all passed away from this disease and I’m fearful the longer it’s left, the more likely I’ll follow their footsteps.

It’s so useful reading everyone’s experience, everyone is so brave for sharing :folded_hands:t2: Thanks for reading if you made it here :two_hearts::folded_hands:t2:
