NHS funding for IVF

I have just been for my first appointment with a fertility specialist to find out about IVF and my options. I’m 32, have no children and would like to have the choice of having children when all this is over. However, having just been to this appointment, I’ve been informed that the NHS won’t fund any fertility treatment because my partner already has a child with a previous girlfriend.

I can’t believe it, has any one else had this problem? I don’t understand why they are taking this opportunity away from me, just because my partner has a child, who unfortunately, he doesn’t get to see anyway. My cancer is ER & PR+ so I’m going to be taking tablets for at least 5 years, and including the years the chemo is going to add onto my ovaries, means my chances of conceiving naturally are limited. I’m so annoyed right now, and feel like this is completely unfair! ?
