No Periods but PMT?

No Periods but PMT?

No Periods but PMT? Hiya

I have had 4 x Epi and 1 x CMF. My periods continued all through the Epi, but I haven’t had one since 23rd April. My question is, even if you don’t have periods do you still get PMT - what exactly does the chemo do. I seem to be feeling hormonal - jittery, anxious and not sleeping (all the usual symptoms I usually get with PMT) and it would be around this time.

Any ideas?

Chemo & PMT Hi Julie

My periods had stopped pre chemo but I had all the symptoms you have described during my chemo. I also had E-CMF (4 x E and 4 x CMF). I put all my symptoms down to the Chemo and all the other nonsense in my head at the time. I finished chemo on 28 December 2006 and my PMT symptoms disappeared about 2 months later. Not sure exactly what the chemo does but it not only messes up our bodies but also our minds. Fortunately this seems to be temporary and hopefully your symptoms will disappear soon. My doctor did offer me sleeping tablets but I declined as I wasn’t sure how they would react with the chemo. Perhaps you could see if there are any relaxation groups in your area as this will help your anxiety and sleeplessness.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Julie just to say , i had my periods all through epi and then when I started the CMF cycle my periods went haywire, so you could be experiencing PMT now and find your period does arrive soon. I can vividly remember feeling the way you have described and wondering what was happening and then low and behold the period would arrive. hope this helps

best wishes Lorri xx

ps… remember talking to you months ago about an Andrew Johson c.d do you still listen to it ??

Hiya girls

Thanks for your replies, it makes sense now.

Lorri, yes I still listen to the Andrew Johnson CD, not as much as I used to as I’m much more positive/strong these days. That’s why I was confused as to why I had suddenly started feeling anxious as I was having a really good day on Saturday, was actually watching The Pursuit of Happiness (excellent film) then started to feel ‘shaky’. I always felt like that just before my period, but there were no signs of it starting. Like you said, it may appear in the next few days.

Thanks again.
