Hi, I’ve been on Letrozole for 4.5weeks, have just had my second Prostap injection (4 weeks since first one), have had one dose of Zoledronic Acid and on my first round of Palbociclib (heading into week 3). I have had no side effects on any of these medications. Other than a slight headache that is sorted with paracetamol, I am feeling absolutely fine! I realise how lucky that makes me but I’m freaking out a bit that it means the meds aren’t working. I’ve been told to expect big things from this combination but what if it doesn’t work??
I’ve also been very lucky with none of the side effects people tend to get from anastrozole and zometa (6 monthly infusions of zolendronic acid). I’ve also started on statins (I’m 69) and no side effects with those either. I feel very lucky. I’m 4 years post diagnosis and all good. It doesn’t mean it’s not working if you don’t have side effects- we’re all different. I had chemo before my lumpectomy- wasn’t sick or anything- yet the chemo removed the tumour completely.
Hi,
I was on it 7months before I had side effects, it takes awhile to get into your system, it’s cumulative…
On the other hand some people do well on it!
Trish
Hi nobodywantsthis
Thanks again for posting.
Its good you are feeling fine on these medications.
As @JeanAnn states everyone is different and how each person responds to medications can vary, therefore some people will not notice any side effects whilst others do. Not having any side effects is not an indication of whether a drug is working or not. The drug will be in your system and working after this length of time but it maybe that side effects are slower to notice, as @Flan says, or you may continue not to have any. However, as you feel concerned about this, it may help to talk to your treatment team or pharmacist about this.
