I was told to phone rapid response no if there was any bleeding, nose, gums anywhere because of platelets, infection, so please call your rapid response to be on the safe side. Love shi xx
I’m day 8, post chemo 1, my nose started bleeding today, it’s not severe but it is there and makes you worry. I’ll wait till tomorrow, see if it repeats and how often. Thank you, ladies xx
Lesley, what a fantastic website! I love the scarves ?
Abadan you are in the nadir phase, please don’t leave it, this is when you are most at risk, it’s what the rapid response no is for, they will advise as they have seen it all before and will know what’s best for you. Because you are on chemo it’s not like usual and you have to be super aware of everything even with no raised temp. What’s a 2 minute phone call to make sure you are safe? Love shi xx

Pressed post instead of next page chemo brain has hit!
I’ve not had nose bleeds yet but nose gets very dry first few days. Had FEC 3 today so will see what that brings!

All the very best Carole xx
Best wishes Elorac66 x
Good luck Carole. You can do this xxx
Otter my hair loss started like that too. Dont bexalarmed when ot starts to ‘fly’ . It is upsetting but once its gone its gone. I got it shaved to a number 4 on day 19 as i couldnt stand hair being everywhere anymore. It was a relief and i have been fine since. I still have a very fine covering xxc
Good luck Carole, hope all goes well for you xx???
Ahhh Otter, you’re a day ahead of me, so far apart from a few extra strands here & there everything is ok - although I’m checking daily. Can’t really tell below as I had a good tidy up before I started my chemo. All the best ?? xx
Morning ladies,
Good luck Carole x.
Otter I’m a day ahead of you, cold capping but have that sore head thing going on eeek!!
How is your application going?x?x?x?
Woke up today with a sore throat when I swallow do I ride it out or can I get something for it??? Don’t want to delay round 2 next week???
Carole, good luck today, remember to drink plenty. Hope everything goes ok and chemontreats you kindly.
lesley, those bamboo bedsheets look lovely might have to order myself some (have a thing for lovely bedding), we also have a wool duvet and pillows from the wool room thewoolroom.com/bedding/http://www.thewoolroom.com/bedding/ which again was a bit pricey but really worth it. Very good at regulating temperature.
Hope you November ladies are doing ok and anadan I hope that nose of yours sorts itself out.
Good luck Carole, you will be fine and we are all thinking of you!
Meeesh I will look at those duvets, I keep a summer tog on all year round, I find it easier to warm up than cool down!
Day 8 for me and today is the first day of waking up and feeling normal.
I’ve chuckled to myself reading about our hair loss … in what other context would you be discussing your lady garden with a total stranger??? … childbirth and cancer certainly strips away the inhibitions.
have a good one ladies … one day closer to the finish line!!
xx
Best of luck today Carole ?
Lesley62…i know!!! Childbirth and cancer certainly means bye bye inhibitions ??
Day 16 for me after 1st Fec, feel ok so far although i have had hot feet and hands this past 1 week.
Next week is insertion of hickmans line (makes me strangely nervous), meeting with dr. about mastectomy/reconstructive surgery after chemo, meeting with oncologist and culminating with Fec 2 and cold cap on wednesday!! So mamy appointments i seem to get a letter in the post everyday!!
Happy Thursday everyone x
You think discussing your lady garden with strangers is strange. If your month’s thread ends up anything like the October one then nothing is taboo! Which is great because otherwise we worry that what’s happening to us is not normal. Having contact with people who totally get what you are going through is a lifesaver. I agree that it helps if you have been through childbirth too!
Good luck, Carole ? hope it goes well for you xx
I phoned the unit about my nose if it happens again, I will have to have my blood checked, now to calm down and monitor - the bleeding down there as well, if it gets heavier or longer than my normal period, to let them know.
Bythesea, please contact the unit as well, they might give you some antibiotics, you still have one week, there’s still time. This is what happened to me before my 1st round - in any other normal circumstances I wouldn’t bother, it was only a snotty nose (nose! Again ?) and a blocked ear, but the doctor said I might not be able to fight this infection after chemo and I was made to wait for another week and took antibiotics for 5 days.
It’s day 9 for me, no hair loss yet it all reminds me of my puberty time, when I watched my boobs and giggled with the other girls how painful it was to run and jump in PE ? and hair starting growing, and acne … I’d never been so watchful and conscious of my body as then, and now it happens again ?
have a good day lovely ladies ??
Meesh it is so bad you know what sheep smell like!!
I am a bit of a no holes barred kinda gal at the best of times, it’s only when I see other peoples reactions that I realise I may have overstepped the mark!! But hey, it’s good to be remembered … isnt it???
I live alone, and only see my partner at weekends, I was up chucking last weekend and this weekend he has a throat infection so avoiding him like the plague, I will be going from chemo day to next weekend (day 16) before I see him.
So you ladies are my sanity - thanks for being there!!
xx
Love the image of the Collie dogs rounding up the duvet ?.
I prefer people who say it how it is at least you know where you with them. I’ve been quite open at work too. We are a close knit group and I feel it demystifies cancer and takes some of the fear away. I don’t want to be treated any differently apart from people keeping away from if they have lurgy.
