Well survived treatment 1 thank you all for your well wishes.
Think I must have looked a bit odd in the treatment room in my jumper, poncho and blanket when everyone else was in normal clothes but it kept me warm whilst cold capping.
Did feel pretty awful Thursday night, nauseous and exhausted but the sickness meds have seen me through and today feeling really okay.
Woke up this morning with an interesting side effect I look like I have a sun tan, just chest and shoulders really, so looking sun-kissed and healthy
Good to hear I am not the only one to get a suntan.
And yes I have been advised to inject in the evening then go to bed. Also been told that it is okay to take nurofen before hand to help with any joint pain but taken temp first as nurofen will effect this. Hope this helps.
Yes chilling and drink plenty of water. My son and step daughter have just been to sainsburys to restock the cupboards but have left the loo roll at the till so have just gone back to try and retrieve it ?
Hi Ladies
Just popping in…re. gcsf injections. They should be given at the same time each day, not necessarily the evening, but maybe that helps with joint pain. You can take ibroprofen for pain. It’s best to avoid paracetamol because this could mask a temperature.
Hope you’re all ok and having a restful weekend ?
Hugs
Sue xx
Yep, my nurse said as Sue just said: stick to the same part of the day, but you can choose whether morning or evening, doesn’t matter
Good to hear you’re doing ok, Carole xxx
And the rest of the team ? well done you ?
I’m starting my good week before the next round and feel ok too ?
Have a nice evening xx
Injections ladies, I was told to do opposite sides of belly too each day and same time. Grab a handful of belly near belly button and stick in push down till you hear the click then release needle will go back up into plastic needle and you put in your box that hospital should have given you to dispose of needles, don’t close till you have done all injections. Hope this helps ???shi xx
Hi ladies, regards the injections as long as it’s the same time of the day each day it’s fine. I do mine in the evening as I suffer with joint point for the last couple of days each cycle and find it best to take pain killers and go to bed afterwards so I’m through the worst of this by morning. Mentioned the pain to the oncologist this week and she has given me stronger painkillers to take as in her words we don’t need to suffer with things like that when we already have enough to deal with. Start my next lot of injections tomorrow so fingers crossed it’s not to bad this time with the extra meds Xx
Morning ladies,
Time flies!!! Can’t believe that’s almost three weeks already!
Getting bloods done tomorrow but still hanging on to sore throat :0( telling myself the runny nose is side effect.
Anadan who decides if they postpone you? Is it the blood results or will they look at my throat??? :0(
Bythesea, I saw the oncologist, he decided; my blood was ok, but still he said it was better to postpone it as I was only at the start, I hink the decision might have been different if it had been somewhere between the rounds. Is your temp alright? I think that’s oneof the factors they consider. Hope you feel better soon xx
I did tell him about the ears too, Bythesea; And I’m glad I did because I felt terrible the next day, very poorly, so I think he made a good decision :)
I’ve been very careful these last two weeks, avoiding people so they don’t give me a lurgy and I’m looking forward to this week it’s my last week before the next round and I must get out and socialise ?
if only I could have a nice walk by the sea … Lesley, you’re so lucky ???
I’ve been trying to upload of photo from my walk today - just heaven
but it keeps uploading on it’s side, even if I upload one that I have deliberately put on its side!!
I am in Kent, so went to Folkestone and watched the ferries going into and out of Dover and the big ships travelling along the Channel.
France was so clear, not quite picked up on the photo anyway!
I was thinking of you all as I stomped along the Leas! My Apple Watch even registered it as exercise, first time since before chemo!!
I definitely feel as if I have turned a corner, but obviously don’t want to peak too soon, so will be heading for the sofa and some romcoms for the rest of the day!!
Glad you are doing ok Carole, be kind to yourself though, it can still bite you!!
Hi JC1262/Bythesea,
I think we are chemo buddies as i have round 2 this wed. Good luck to us!!
Was super sad today as my hair is starting to rapidly fall out…had convinced myself i was going to escape this ?
Hi JC1262 - oncologist for me tmr, hickman line tuesday FEC round 2 on Wednesday. Such fun few days…glad i got out and about last week and started my Christmas shopping.
Overall since the 1st round i have been ok which i have been v.thankful for.

Best of luck on friday, I’ll be sending you lots of positive thoughts xx
Hi Otter65, best of luck to you this week for your round 2. Ive tried not to wash, brush my hair too much, it will be interesting to see what happens after round 2.

Thanks to you all for sharing everything, makes this journey less lonely.
Love, hugs snd strength to us all xx
I’m a celebrity get me out of here is just about to start…woohoo!!
Hi ladies, I’m 3rd fec in haven’t cold capped and just to let you know still got a bit of hair left but expecting it to go by next week, it’s usually around day 12-17 it drops out, I clipped off to a grade 4 after 1st chemo, sleep on silk pillowcase which does help the hair and scalp. Don’t worry about t chemo yet, us on Oct thread and previous threads will jump on your thread hear and offer tips and help as much as we can. We are all in this together and we will get each other through this safely. ??shi xx
Start of a new week - hope it all goes as planned for us all … Fingers crossed!
Carole - how are you doing? Coming out of the otherside slowly?
Sorry to keep asking inane questions… I am curious by nature!
Has anyone else / everybody else been given daily Vit D and calcium tablets to take? My nurse was surprised when my bag of goodies arrived that they were in there - and now it’s got me thinking … only taken 12 days to work it’s way thru the very dense grey matter!!
Vitamin D is believed to have a role in cancer prevention and a lot of people have a slight deficiency. It is also given as a supplement to post menopausal women when on hormone treatment phase of treatment to help support bone strength.
