Sleep … I never sleep well first 5 days after chemo think it’s the steroids x then day 6 I sleep almost continuously
I am white skinned and found using a nude foundation was best option (only stayed skin colour as a reference point) I use a compact which is cream to matte by Avon not expensive either and as to where I stop depends on what I putting on my head lol x if I wear my wig I take it about an inch above where my wig sits but if I wearing a hat they sit lower so I don’t go quite as high xx
another glorious walk around the village!!
It’s days like these that lift the heart!!
xx
Wow beautiful x what part of the world are you? X
Lovely photo Lesley, thanks for sharing???shi xx
Gorgeous photo. I love winter days like today, great to be outdoors then come home and snuggle by the fire in the evening. It’s the dark dreary days that give winter a bad name. It’s hard at this time of year being bald knowing where to stop with the foundation. I have a line where my face colour goes to which is natural but of course it looks less so when you put on makeup. Since I think it’s too cold to rock the bald look anyway I don’t suppose it matters really.
Earrings have been one of my treat items, they just seem to finish off the scarf or hat look. I’ve nrver really bothered before but I now have some lovely ones. M&S have lots of skin friendly nice ones at decent prices. I have also got a few pretty and fun Christmas ones. Cute penguins from M&S and some Christmas stocking ones from accessorize and some huge drop shaped green Christmas bauble ones from the charity shop ?
I envy you chaffinch I can only wear gold and silver I have tried hypo allergenic but they bring me out in a rash
Would love some cheap fashion earrings but can only manage about 20 minutes max x
Looks like you have all been busy sorting out your new looks, I am still waiting any hair action, but agree that strong colours and earrings is a good idea. I tried one of my turbans on with large earrings but hubby and kids told me I looked like a fortune teller ?
Lovely photo Lesley, we had a lovely sunny day today too and so I had a stroll out kicking leaves as we live near woods. Hoping tomorrow is nice too
And in regards to sleep I tried the headspace meditation app months ago and have found it really helpful to relax me when needed
Happy Saturday ladies
I love this thread so much. I went out for some leaf kicking of my own and came back inspired to a) book a LGFB course; b) think about blending and being bald; and c) get my act together and actually use Headspace consistently plus return to the routine/sleepy time tea rather than get in a tizz about sleep before I even head upstairs. Most of all, I remembered that there is a bunch of women out there who know exactly what life is like at the moment and are still making me smile and laugh outloud. And it is a Strictly night. Excellent. x
Strictly, I’m a Celeb, rugby ? and F1 - perfect weekend!!! ??
If the Ashes was on as well I wouldn’t be leaving the house at all!! ?
Agree, walk before rugby and now time to cook dinner before strictly starts ?
Didn’t make it out of the house today as it was too cold! Annakarenina, try not to worry about sleeping as that will probably only make it worse. I now just recognise I may not sleep well for a few days here and there and don’t worry about it anymore. I think that approach has also helped this cycle as sleep has been better.
Lesley the pic’s lovely, I live about a 15- 20 min walk from the coast and have woodlands on the way so can get the best of both leaf kicking and then sea views ?
I love this thread. We live all over the place but can help one another not matter how big or small. And the power of a photo!!!
Elora, I love the image of a fortune teller ? it’s a great excuse to practice new looks with make-up & jewellery, thinking statement necklaces here
Enjoy your Saturday evening everyone
Xxx ???
Strictly viewing is purely for wigspiration!!! ???
Hello lovely ladies xx have we discussed how to look after our scalps? Since my hair have started to fall out, my scalp is very sensitive and it hurts to frown even ? I had a shave today, my girls told me I look pretty (aren’t they lovely ?) Xx
Enjoy the evening xx
Hi Anadan, I haven’t been brave enough to shave, so am quite wispy. You can see my scalp and my daughter’s think I have a lovely shaped head - they are all taller than me!!
I have asked about scalp treatment, shampooing is a definite with a fragrance free/gentle shampoo. I think it’s then important to use a gentle moisturiser or oil.
I guess make up goes up to hairline.
Your girls certainly sound lovely - I feel very blessed with mine ???
Hello ladies, I’m cold capping so still have quite a bit of hair but my wig lady told me not to shave hair right down as it can make head sore as skin is very sensitive. Also I know Sue from our Oct thread is using coconut oil. I’ve got curly hair and have been using a homemade cream on my hair for quite a while (even prior to chemo) it’s made of equal parts coconut oil, shea butter and aloe Vera gel. I’ve been using it on any dry skin I’ve had so I think you could also use it on your scalp and would be good for when your curly chemo hair regrows! ?
Oh I forgot to say to make it you just put the coconut oil and shea butter in a container and melt in the microwave mix together and then mix the aloe Vera gel in, then out in the fridge to set. You can add essential oils rosemary is good for hair but I would only add that after chemo as EOs may affect chemo.
One last thing castor oil is supposed to be good for hair regrowth (look it up on Pinterest), so might want to consider that once chemo is done.
I was advised not to shave bald so I went number 2 and my hair started to vanish cycle 2 day 2
As meesh said I am using coconut wax and my head is not too bad for sensitivity
I did buy an expensive one off amazon but then bought some for 99p from Lidl and it’s just as good although the amazon one is about 5 times the size
I put it on morning and night and my head shimmers and shines like a bowling ball ? lol xx
