Day 7 for me - and feeling a little bit more human
I need to get out of my fugg, so a couple of short walks are in order I think … but there are deliveries due!!!
Day 6 was the worst for me in chemo 1 and proved the same in chemo 2
OH is still struggling with a viral infection and asthma so still off limits and son has buggered off to Monaco!! It’s ok for some!!
Looking in the mirror this morning, I was slightly upset to see my dad staring back at me - we now share the same hairdo!! But after 55 years of being told I am the spitting image of my mum, it’s nice to know there’s a bit of dad in there too.
Hope we are all bouncing back again, thinking of you Carole for tomorrow!

FEC 4 for me this afternoon!
I look just like me dad too but with less hair unfortunately my health history is smiler too. Under active thyroid, cancer, his oesophagus, mine breast. Just hope my heart stays healthy because his is terrible and was from only 60!

Getting organised for tomorrow, loads of bottled water and biscuits to nibble on bought and EMEND collected. Also had hair wash today and I think a small hairy animal was wrapped around the plughole. So we will see how cold capping goes tomorrow. I’m a bit concerned that when they remove it all my hair will be attached to it ? oh well soon find out
???get through the fec wonderful ladies and don’t think about the t, till you have to. Think we’ve given tips first, loratadine antihistamine, Epsom salt baths, Imodium, udderly cream with extra urea from amazon for hands and feet biscotears liquid gel for dry eyes and more carbs in diet for botty squits on the t ???you’ll all be fine, the May, July, sept ladies will get you through as they are doing us t beginners on Oct thread ???hold onto each other girls as you are doing and get each other through safely ??shi xx
Hi Elorac, I also worried that they’d take the cap off and all my hair would be good inside, but it didn’t happen. What was quite worrying on my chemo 2 was when they wetted it down and put the conditioner on the nurse had loads of hair in her hands Which she tried to hide I think (bless her). I just had fec4 yesterday and am quite thin on top now but still continuing with it as I have good coverage on my fringe, sides and back still.
Thanks Meesh I am going to stick with it and see how it goes tomorrow, but am expecting the nurse to get hairy hands at the least. Then we will see what the next wash brings x
Shi, I’ve had a look at the udderly cream with extra urea and am a bit confused. There are tubs of udderly smooth extra care cream or tubes with 10% or 20% urea. What would you recommend? Thanks ?
Either as late my as it’s got the added urea. Tatyana from July thread got all the May ladies on it and the July ladies, on the t part of chemo it’s a wonder cream for sore hands and feet that they all used, which is why I got mine ready to start my t with tomorrow, these ladies have experience of how to cope with se’s on t, so that’s all I need, these ladies know what they are doing on the se’s and have looked after us through fec and are looking after us through t on the Oct thread too, I thank God for mai7 from May thread who I met at my 1st chemo in Oct and she took me under her wing and so did the May ladies and we’ve had July and sept ladies also guiding and taking care of us too???shi xx
Hello everyone I posted on here the other day regarding a letter being received from hospital after being admitted due to catching a bug!
Bloods for liver came back high which I had this problem after 1st cycle of chemo so my oncologist reduced my chemo 20% as I’m on HPTC
So I received a letter to be sent for an ultrasound on my abdomen and pelvis to check my liver by the hospital!
My diagnosis is Stage 1 maybe 2 as 1 lymph node is affected Grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma 3cm tumour! Chemo has shrunk to tumour a lot after 3 cycles !
I rang my BC nurse to ask why I have been sent for this ultrasound as I’m very worried,she looked it up on computer and said it’s just procedure the hospital have seen high blood results and just automatically referred me! She said it’s nothing to worry about but why am I worrying? My 4th cycle out of 6 is tomorrow and I’m just getting to live with the fact that I have BC and hopefully will be cured…but this has own set me back and I’m thinking the worse ( has it spread ) would they know from the 1st bloods they take before cycle 1 if there was any signs of spread ( cancer ) It’s really getting me down!
Sorry for the long post but I want to look forward to Christmas with my partner 15yr old daughter and family
Sam I think you need to speak to your BCN again or the sister in chemo when you have your next session.
You need your team to understand where you are coming from and how you’re feeling. They need to be reassuring you and answering all your questions. Remember the team are there for you, you’re not bothering them, spend as much time with them until you are happy with what they are saying to you.
Wish there was something more constructive I could say.

Sam, I don’t know what to say for you not to worry but maybe try to get into the Christmas spirit with your family and not borrow worries until you hear anything definite. Please try and stay strong, sending you hugs ???

Booo, I look like a panda bear ? black patches of hair on my head; I’m day 9 today, washed my hair in the shower, got out, looked at the mirror and saw a panda ? I’m not Carla Delavigne any more I’m a cancer patient x can I shave off what’s left and go shiny ? My hairdresser said don’t shave because the scalp will get sore. I don’t like the panda in the mirror though xx

I’m already down to a short 1 and don’t fancy shaving just with the blade … give it another few days and we’ll give Kojack a run for his money … who loves ya baby??

I shaved to number 2 then what was left shed very quickly after cycle 2 I was advised not to shave as it can make your head sore but also there is the risk of nicks to the head if you are not really careful which can cause infections
I went to see my general gp Monday who told me I was rocking the sinead o’connir look ??
I think I look more like Dementia, uncle Festers girlfriend but thinknthats the dark circles under my eyes my skin seems to have lost its glow x
