Thanks Jc and otter ??don’t worry about going over to t, my first one was fine, just botty problems for a couple of weeks. I just wanted to let you all know about the reaction yesterday so if you feel anything starting when you are having t you alert them immediately, don’t sit there thinking am I imagining it, it took hold of me so quick and I just want to help keep you all safe should it happen to you. Had a bit more steriod shopping this morning to help get me over the shock of yesterday, this could continue for a few days yet ???love you all keep safe and strong you amazing ladies ?????shi xx
Hi Lesley, that’ll be good if your sons with you or if a friend can be with you for the t’s my concern is if your trust doesn’t have nurses in the room with you at all times like my trust does. Please don’t worry too much it’s just one of those things and people do sake through t ok, cassie and sue on Oct thread with me are fine and dandy on it. We are all brave Lesley and without the love, support, kindness and friendship on these threads, I would not have kept ???and and gone to ???on the top of the Oct ?without all the amazing ladies on these threads. We are getting each other through safely step by step and who knew at the start of our journeys just how much beauty and kindness we would find from strangers on these threads who turn out to be our sanity, lifeline and hearts who truly understand every part of this journey. ??shi xx
Hi ladies
Wow shi what a nightmare I hope you are doing okay now sounds so scary. Sending hugs.???
I must confess this swapping to T is making me very anxious too ladies.
One thing that I always wonder about is dose size something I must ask my onc about as at 5’2’ and 9 1/2 stone can I cope with the same dose as a bigger person ?
Well day 2 after last FEC and no excessive nausea due to increased steroid dose but knackered. Also suffering from acid reflux but also have meds for that so all in all so far 3rd being kinder fingers crossed it stays that way xxx ??
Hi elorac, all your chemo doses are worked out individually on your height and weight specific to you. Because after fec 1 I was in hospital I’ve been on 80% dose for last 2 fec s and my first 2 t’s. I didn’t have any trouble t 1 3 weeks ago just a botty problem for first 2 weeks. So the reaction yesterday was totally unexpected by me but the nurses said it can happen at anytime with the switch which is why I just wanted to share with you all so you alert them if you feel anything what I felt to keep you all safe. It’s just one of those things it’s different for everyone, like I say Cassie and sue are fine and dandy on the t. Please don’t any of you worry, just be vigilant that’s all ???shi xx
Ladies, don’t worry about the t. I have been achey but not sick or nauseous. Swings and round abouts! Half way there tho and then it’s all over. No more injections for me woo hoo!!! Till next time :0(
No achey veins on the t yay!
And the t was faster to administer,
and through a drip and not through those comedy syringes!
And the extra steroids mean more shopping presents to spoil us lovely ladies xxx
Glass half full Bythesea!!!
I was given a very good talking to by my son this afternoon - talk about role reversal!
T is going to be different in the same way coffee is different to tea!
I’m sure we’ll all be fine once we’ve had the first one and we know what we’re desling with!
Off the the OH’s for the weekend - lots of hugs and cuddles for me!!
Have a good weekend everyone xx
Enjoy the cuddles Lesley. I’m going to try the clarityn with next injections as I think that’s where my aches came from. If that’s the case T’s a breeze ladies. Don’t worry about it :0)
Eeeek nearly a new year! 2018 here we come!!!
Hi otter
Only been weighing at onc appointments and was holding my own, just jumped on scales, now 9 stone 11 - eeck ???
Must be just Christmas over indulgence ??
Hi ladies, just catching up with your Christmas stories as haven’t been on for a few days (from Nov 2014 thread!) Sounds like you’re all having a rough ride at the moment, but you’re coming up to the halfway mark so hang in there.
I was fortunate to have paclitaxol (taxol) rather than docetaxel (taxotere). Taxol is weekly so I had 11 of them after FEC. If anyone is on this regime it really is much easier than taxotere. Although my nurse had oxgygen, steroid and an antidote handy in case of allergic reaction.
Look after your hands and feet, some people experience nail problems, hair definitely starts growing during tax, I had a good inch or 2 of new growth when I finished in April.
Weight wise I dropped from around 9.5 stone to 8 during treatment - they adjust the dose accordingly. 3 years on and thanks to chemo pause and follow on drugs I’m now nudging 10.5 on the scales!!!
Keep smiling and sharing and look forward to reaching that finishing post. I wish you all a happy and peaceful New Year xx
Thank you so much for visiting Riversidedawn and giving us a glimpse into life the other side of these mountains. Although I have one more EC to go, I am also going onto Paclitaxel, although on a fortnightly dose for four cycles which seems rarer. I am really grateful to hear about your experience.
For everyone still on the wrong side of the mountain, we can do this. Crampons (or something - I have no clue about mountain climbing) at the ready, my friends. xx
Just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year ??? and in the words of the song “things can only get better” so don your big girl knickers, wear them on the outside with a superhero cape as we swing into 2018. There is light at the end if the tunnel
Happy New Year xxx
????????
Hi ladies
Just wanted to wish everyone a very healthy and happy 2018 ???
I am sitting looking at the Cornish sea a New Year trip planned with family which I never thought we’d make after diagnosis and treatment plan. But thanks to an up in steroids I’m here and good to go. Planning a walk on the beach and maybe an ice cream if it’s not too chilly.
Whatever you are planning have a lovely evening and even though 2018 will bring us challenges we will all get to the end of this journey and we will have made it with each others support strength and wisdom
Happy New Year lovely ladies xxxx
Happy New Year’s Eve everyone - what ever you have planned, have lots of fun and make some special wishes at midnight. Onwards and upwards into 2018 … we will all deal with whatever is thrown at us! We have got this far! and you can’t keep a good woman down!
I hate to put a downer on things but I am not day 12 of 3 and have an ongoing background feeling of nausea? Temp and everything else is fine … anyone else experienced this?
xx
Hi Lesley, pop a post on Oct thread, I think the 3rd fec took it out of a few of us on our thread, I can’t help with the nausea, meesh and dizzy had those sea bands to help with their nausea. ???shi xx
Hi ladies
Happy New year to you all ???
Wishing we all get through this??? without any long term effects
Lesley been ok this cycle but first 2 I had the same just this empty feeling in my stomach I just nibeled biscuits??? which is why I think I have put on so much weight ???
Hi Lesley, I had some problems with nausea on cycle 2 of fec which lasted until about day 8 but I do know Dizzybrummie from Oct thread suffers more or less all the way through her cycle with nausea ? I have been wearing the seabands and i had fec 5 Wednesday, had a bath and forgot to put them back on and had a rough night with acid , despite omeprazole so I do think they must do something. Put them on the next morning and felt better by lunchtime. The usually wear them for about a week after chemo.
Happy new new year ladies, it’s got to be a better one for us hasn’t it? ????????
Happy New Year Ladies.
Wishing you all the best for 2018.
Can’t thank you all enough for your support this year. It’s really nice to know you are all here xxx.
Hope you all have something fabulous planned for tonight x. I’ve dug out my sparkly shoes that I haven’t worn yet and I ordered some of those glitter lips that October Shi mentioned so it’s sparkles all the way for me tonight.
See you all in 2018 xxxxx
Lesley Re the nausea, get a glass of bubbles in your hand xxx
Bythesea great advice bubbles all round ???
