@flojo - no that does not sound fun. I struggle with nausea and am hoping to shift that after EC but I’ll just have to see how it goes for me as you have had some
I’m just flapping about this pain in my side and waiting for scan on Friday. Praying I get good results- I’m terrified!

I hope your treatment goes well on Friday and the effects are not as severe as the first one :crossed_fingers:t2::purple_heart:x

@flojo im finding Docetaxol much harder than EC but exactly like you I found EC was never as bad as the first one so I’m also hoping like you that this first Docetaxol is just dreadful because it’s the first. Might push for a dose reduction like with my EC. I was reassured it wouldn’t affect how well it works!

I’m day 11 and mouth still like I’ve been sucking an iron bar and can’t seem to tolerate anything food and drink wise but bland and either salty or sweet. Water tastes revolting! Got a couple of mouth sores and inside of lips are swollen. All they keep giving me is various mouthwashes that are worse than the problem! It’s def not oral thrush as I had that every time on EC.

I had high hopes for Docetaxol! :face_exhaling:.

Anyway I’ve decided today to get a grip. To stop inwardly moaning (and outwardly moaning on here!), and toughen up. So what if I can’t eat or drink what I normally do and I’m rotting my teeth with all the crap! It’s all temporary and I need to stop catastrophising about the small stuff and remember why I’m doing this!!! As I’ve said repeatedly on here - I was never very good at being ill at the best of times!

Here’s to an easier cycle two for both of us!

Well done @hlc for getting to your last chemo, what a moment that must have felt like!

I had fifth chemo yesterday and I think you’re @arty1 it’s the cannula stress and getting the phesgo injection that cause me to feel sick with anxiety the day before and on the day. I am looking forward to sixth and final chemo cycle in a few weeks!

Cannula insertion wasn’t too bad it’s under my thumb but as my hand is still healing from extravastion which happened in round two. Last two rounds have had cannula in right hand but that was feeling battered so went back on left hand.

A short day for me yesterday was only six hours so that was better than previous rounds!

Haven’t slept much last night :face_holding_back_tears:. But I guess that’s what I can do today possibly!

Hope you are all doing ok and we are all getting this through this 🫶🏼🫶🏼 with the highs and lows :mending_heart:

Xx

For those of you that had axillary node clearance and need radiotherapy, do you know how much radio you’re going to have? Before Christmas my oncologist said 15 sessions, and this week he said 5. When I asked why he had changed his mind he pointed me to the ‘fast forward’ study which demonstrated that 5 is as effective as 15, however the study was published in 2020, so it’s not new information, which has left me wondering what else has informed the change. I will ask when I next see him in three weeks, but want some reference points too…

editing to add that NICE says 15 for “people with invasive breast cancer having regional lymph node irradiation”

Did you have all 3 levels removed (levels 1 and 2 are standard)?

I’m not sure what that means, I had the normal sentinel lymph node biopsy with my lumpectomy and all 3 nodes removed were cancerous, then opted for lymph node clearance, which removed a further 17 of which 1 was cancerous. I’m not having any radio on my axilla because the nodes are gone, just breast and collar bone (for other nodes).

Hear, hear…I don’t do ill either! I hope you feel better soon. I’m hoping once I get the next one out of the way and have just one left, it will feel like the home straight on this part at least! xx

I was told 15 although I’m waiting for an appt to find out what is planned.

Thanks, having read the nice guidelines this afternoon I think he’s made an error

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. Can I ask, has anyone had issues following EC with tightness in chest and upper abdomen? Had my third one last Friday. I haven’t had these sensations before so not sure if it’s normal x

Not had that one. Maybe one for the chemo line? Hopefully just another odd side effect. x

Call your helpline and check with them. Better to be safe :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Last two days I’ve been swollen and puffy around my eyes. On day 13 of Docetaxol and Phesgo. Anyone else? Is that normal? Skin feels dry and tight. Also got bad skin around my nose.

My eyes and nose are messy on Docetaxel. Like a slight allergy all the time and very dry.

Visceral tears helped a lot of us during docetaxol and udderly smooth with extra urea cream from Amazon helped a lot of us with dry skin it quenched it better than anything else for a lot of us so just sharing with you :two_hearts::two_hearts::sparkles::sparkles:Shi xx

I would call your helpline and let them know. Always worth checking out why your eyes are puffy and swollen. Could be an allergy.

I get this on paclitaxel, I use copious amounts of Nivea for the face several times a day and up my nose at bed time, and it helps. also got some stuff for dry eyes, but only use this when the eyes feel really bad as it gives very short term relief anyways
