Hi Kate
I finished my active treatment last Sept since then have seen breast surgeon/Specialist nurse twice have another appt for Dec and onc once next appt next week so will be twice in 12 months and had mammo in Jan a year after dx. So have been seen every 3 months by one or the other I think this continues for 5 years? BUt dont quote me on that as no one really explains anything!!!

Hi Kate,
I also finished treatment last year, have seen surgeon 3 times and onc twice, have not had a mammogram yet, (in my area it’s 18months to 2 years) next year it’s alternate one year surgeon the next year onc, until I finish tamoxifen, hope this helps xx

thanks to you both …It has helped…

When you see your Oncologist in October they will probably tell you to make another appointment and tell you when they want to see you again

After I finished treatment including Herceptin, I was given an annual review appointment with a surgeon a couple of weeks after my mammogram. The final one was last year as I had got to the 5 year mark and I am now on annual mammos only for the next 5 years. As I turned 50 last year I’ve passed into the screening programme. However, they did tell me if I have any problems or anything worrying me, I am still in the system for 5 years and to contact the breast care nurses.

thanks again for your comments…seems things are different for everyone …I will see what my onc says for me
Take care ladies
