Just a query,as many of you know I have had peripheral neuropathy sice tax finished over a year ago. This has always crept up my legs if I am tired and onc says this is usual.I also notice that if I sit for hours[marking etc] my bum goes a bit numb. This wears off quickly as soon as I start to move about.I have noticed recently that people with bone mets describe this as a symptom and wonder if I need to be concerned.I saw onc this week and he prodded up and down my spine and there was no prob.It is not a thing that would have even been noticed pre bc and my husband says it happens to everyone which is why the phrase comes so naturally. It really is a fleeting thing but tell me is it ok?[not tingling or anything just a bit of numbness]I know I ought to relax I’m sorry.Vx
Hi Horace - I’m concerned about my bum too ! It’s not numb but when I have been sitting - even for a little while - it really hurts when I stand up around the coccyx area but a bit more widespread and only for a few minutes. I don’t want to go to the docs with it as don’t want to appear paranoid. I’ve just had x-ray on my foot and rib because of pain and waiting for results but I doubt if there is anything wrong.
Let’s hope our bums wear off soon !!!

Hi Horace & Liz
I’m so glad you raised this! I’ve got a numb bot too - right on the pressure points (relieves it if I sit a little bit forward). Even if I’ve only been sat for a couple of minutes - and Liz, as you mentioned it really hurts when I first stand up. I had a WLE May 2007, then chemo and finished with rads in January and have had this problem since March.
Any ideas what causing it?
Carol
Glad its not just me hope we get to the bottom of this soon[lol]xx
My bottom hurts when I sit too, along with every other part of my body at the minute and I am still having chemo. Had another word with the onc about it yesterday and she reckons mine is because my periods have now stopped and I am going through the menopause, She said it was due to my oestrogen levels dropping very quickly with the chemo and advised glucosomine and evening primrose. I am going to give them a go and hope it helps…xx
