Elliesmum,
I know what you mean about feeling anxious ive git my second round tomorrow and i dreading it incase it knocks me about , ive been told to make sure i keep drinking plenty because i do struggle with getting the fluids in i not a big drinker, ?

Lou ?

Fiona
Glad you feeling good i think i only had to rough days but again i think i made it worse by not drinking, i drinking like a fish today ready for tomorrow,
My son had said he will shave my head if i want him to i am thinking about it for today because my head realy irritable at the mo and everytime i go to gently rub or scratch it clumps of hair come out ?,
I was a bit nervous about the injections but i managed to do them myself i put an ice pack on my tummy first then did it ?,
I will keep you posted if i brave the shave,

Enjoy your day ladies,
Lou ??

Lou, make sure you take the injection out of the fridge 20mins before you need it. Pinch a good inch and holding the flesh go in at a 30degree angle. You do get used to it I promise. Kx

Hi Ellie’s mum, akynzeo and metrochlopromide worked well for me during chemo, no sickness, kept my tastebuds too. ??? done Lou ???you took control and did it ??? you are all doing amazing even if you don’t think/feel you are, you are ??? ??:sparkles::sparkles:Shi xx

Aneeebel
Thanks for that i had to do it i didnt like it coming out the way it was and i pleased to say that prickly sensation has gone and so has the itching so hopefuly i might have a bit more of a settled night well thats if i dont start stressing about round 2 tomorrow,

Goodnight lovely ladies sleep well ? anyway ?,
Hope you all get up in morning feeling good,
Lou ??x

A daytime nap sounds like an excellent idea, Aneeebel! Be kind to yourself and take things gently. I hope you feel a bit more steady on your feet and less tired tomorrow after a good sleep. ??

Great work, Fiona, getting through your first few days and managing a long walk. So pleased to hear the side effects have been kind to you thus far - long may it continue! ??

Very brave, Lou, going ahead with the shave. Good on you! ??

Welcome, Kateday, to this fabulous group. The ladies have been so lovely and supportive of me (and of everyone here). It has helped me immensely! Thank you all! ???

Thanks for the tips, Shi! I will definitely ask about the anti-sickness meds’ you mentioned. Food tasted horrible for a week last time (continuing longer than the nausea) so I’m super encouraged that you managed to avoid losing your tastebuds. Fingers crossed there is a combination of anti-sickness meds that will work better for me in round two. ??

Goodnight and hugs to all! Xox ??

Can anyone tell me how long the sickness lasts
Taking meds drinking fluids
But still either feel sick or am sick y husband will get me sea sick bands later xx

Good morning to all our lovely ladies,

Fiona thanks for that if i honest i feeling a bit anxious i keep thinking because i felt good last time it wont be the same this time ,i drinking loads so hopefuly that will help, hope you still feeling okay today ?,

I hope all you ? ladies are okay today , have a good day whatever you may be doing remember stay strong and keep warm ,
Lou ???x

Aneeebel,
Thanks for that,
Sorry to hear you not feeling to good i had that tinnitus too i had it for 2 days made me feel quite strange,
Take care and look after yourself, ??
Lou ? x

Good luck with round two, Lou. You can get through it! ???

Kateday, I felt sick for a week. Started feeling a little better from day 4, and nausea had largely gone by day 7. (I’m on FEC.) I really struggled to eat or drink, but eventually found that I could stomach sparkling apple juice and that really helped! Drinking water was horrible for the first week for me. It does get better. I’ve felt fine the rest of the cycle. Gearing up for round two on Friday now! ?

I’m thinking of you, Aneeebel. You’ve had a bit of a rough time so far! Fingers crossed your tinnitus subsides soon - not what you need right now! ?

I hope your distric nurse comes soon to put your mind at ease, Fiona. Good to hear your husband is working from home so he can be there for you. ?

Love and gentle hugs to all! ???

Hi Ladies. Do listen to your bodies. I found that I had 4 days or so after FEC where I just took to my bed. Hardly ate anything. I found sparkling water with a splash of cordial most palatable. However, after the first few days, a week at most, I was up and about as normal. Don’t forget everyone is different. Take it easy and look after yourselves. Much love Kxxx

O I hope the district nurse doesn’t keep you waiting to long
I told them I would inject myself , then thought what are you saying , so told my husband he has to do it ??
I’m glad to read this sickness does pass and I will be sure to tell them that it hasn’t been great
I’m also glad to read being tired and just sleeping is normal the nurse yesterday said just stick with normal life routine
Well since 9pm last night I have slept for few hours woke had drink been sick took meds and pretty much continues in that pattern
How can one feel so tired after all those hours sleep all be it broken sleep xx

Hi everyone, I started chemo today -first of 3 FEC, then it will be 3 x T.
I’ve been really anxious about all the possible side effects but nothing much has happened so far - except feeling a bit spaced out and dizzy. Obviously it’s early days though…
I’ve got a portacath fitted which made the infusion much easier (no more nasty needles - I had 2 blood tests and 4 injections/cannulas last week, mostly on the same day so totally fed up of being a human pincushion).
I’m trying the cold cap and it was nowhere near as bad as I expected.
Look forward to hearing/sharing chemo experiences x

Hi all. I start my chemo 7th Nov and have joined the November thread. However, I’ve spent an hour and a half reading through this thread to get a heads up on what to expect after my 1st and 2nd cycles. It’s a fantastic thread and have got some great tips for upcoming possible side effects for which I thank you. Sorry to hear those of you who have not had a good time and had to spend time in hospital. You have all given me inspiration ? I just wanted to ask a question. We have 2 dogs who I love dearly and give me great comfort. I know that the chemo basically abliterates your immune system and you have to be careful during certain periods. Do any of you have pets and have been advised to avoid them through these times due to possible infection. Sorry if this is a daft question ? xx
