@Jaygo thank you for the info
@lumpybyebye haha titty kitty hilarious! Wow I was warned about green wee but poo too!?! What a time to be alive lol
Thank you all, it does feel good to have the date in the diary now.
Just did the LifeBox thing for the hospital, I wasn’t nervous but now I am… but thats future Tessa’s problem, just get through each day right now! ![]()
@rbf that is all such helpful information, thank you.
Best of luck for when RT starts. Please update us and let us know how you get on
@rbf Jaysus it is such an arse! There is just so bloody much going on with our wee bodies no wonder our brains can’t keep track never mind our emotions. From having menopause already, round 2 now, the aches are part of estrogen loss. They subside eventually but they can be especially bad with joints.
I’m panicked about bisphosphonates starting- zoledronic acid, bleugh… Do ask for pain relief for the next few days as you’ll be hit woth flu like symptoms for a few days , yup more bone ache. I really hope it all goes well and you get no SE. Do let me know how it goes.

@rbf Thank you for such a detailed account, it sounds so much easier than anything else we have been through! Thank you ![]()
@dilly so pleased your surgery went well! And you sound like you’re recovering really well
you champion! x
@tessie86 really pleased you have your date now for surgery. Feels so much better when you have a plan! And is it final chemo for you on Friday? x
@lumpybyebye ooh that’s really good to know that you can get non hrt meds for the hot flushes. I don’t know how much of mine are caused by the steroids or chemo or whether it’s the start of menopause, but I loose count of how many times I put clothes on and off every evening! Cool Matt in bed helps loads but constantly turning it around as I quickly hear it up! x
@nib32 best description for Docetaxel! The pains are so random aren’t they! Hope they ease for you soon x
Final chemo for me today!
I’ve rang that bell so hard I broke it
No radio for me after full mastectomy but another 15 rounds of Herceptin every 3 weeks and hormone therapy to start soon, but I’m so glad chemo is officially done!

Hey boobie ladies
I’ve been through to the otherside of menopause and now being hit with the repeat cycle, thank you cancer you bastard. First time, slow and natural but I could have antidepressants for mood and flushes, IUD to support my uterus health and balance hormone loss, initially hrt patches - became allergic to the glue / plaster and hormone gel for my hoo haa and more gel for sexy time![]()
Now a new journey through medical menopause minus HRT. So, I’ve got a pro active GP who was all over it today - meds for insomnia / hot flashes. I am on citalopram already, just below max dose so still wiggle room. Oncologist had already said that it is safe to use estrogen gel in hoo haa as it doesn’t go further than cervix to keep down below happy - vaginal atrophy is not pleasant - been there, reversed that TG.
So, I thought it might help some of you having early menopause or going on hormone suppressants. If you are hormone negative there is support. If you are hormone positive there is support. Ask your GP or BCN or oncologist for help. You don’t have to put up with it. I’ve put a pic below so you can see the type of symptoms that you may experience. Some cross over with chemo side effects, med side effects so just you are aware. ![]()
