I had really long hair , it’s mostly gone from top and very little round sides , I don’t know what to do , someone else told me not to cut it but I’ve seen others have shaved etc x
It’s so hard, I know @bird25 x But you don’t have to do anything straightaway. You could ask for a really short style, then see how you feel for the next cycle.
@nastynork I’ve seen different oncologists every time too! It’s so annoying! I’ve got an appointment Monday about the zolendronic acid infusions starting and no doubt that’ll be with someone else ![]()
Thanks for the info on the sleeping tablets and also @lumpybyebye insight into it, I had some whilst going through chemo but now struggling with sleep I think due to over thinking just about every moment of the day so might try my GP as god knows how I’ll go back to the office on no sleep ![]()
@rbf hope the infusion went ok today - I’m dreading it so be interesting to hear how you get on with side effects x
@tessie86 wow that’s amazing
Employee of the month! You should be so proud and I get what you said about feeling ‘seen’. A very big well done ![]()
Good luck for your last chemo on Friday too.
What a week ![]()
Thank you.
They had a fair bit of trouble cannulating me so it wasn’t the best start! Had to sit with my arms under a heat pad for a while to try to tempt the veins out ![]()
But once IV sorted, infusion itself was fine and all done in half an hour.
Now the anxious wait to see how the side effects play out! ![]()

Interestingly, they were surprised that I wasn’t already on calcium tablets … so I’m not sure if the oncologist should have sorted that out for me, but I’ll eConsult the GP tomorrow to see if they can help.
Will they give you your infusion date when you have your appointment Monday?
Oh @rbf the joys of cannulas again - I got used to my PICC line! I’ve got my appointment already, so see oncologist Monday and then infusion booked for Saturday 21st - so hoping side effects are minimal as have op the following Friday
, fingers crossed for you
I’ve read flu like symptoms are a possibility for a couple of days after….
I know right, the PICC line was so good for all that!
Sadly I woke up at 3am feeling terrible
, it’s been a massive struggle getting up this morning but I’m working so need to try and go in..
Feel very fluey indeed, shivery, and my body is so painfully achey. Also had upset stomach, the fun never ends…. Feels like bad filgrastim days again.
Oh bless you that’s rough - hopefully the zometa SEs are short lived and you’ll be ok for surgery x
Oh no @rbf hope you feel better soon! Sounds like you need a day in bed rather than work! But I know what it’s like! Take care, dose up! ![]()
Hi @rbf I had my first bisphosphonates infusion at same time as EC no3 so was a bit hard to seaprate what side effect was what, , but the combination of both was quite intense. I felt a bit fluey, intense fatigue, and nausea , plus bloating and heartburn. Symptoms didn’t last more than a week though. Any way hopefully you won’t feel bad like I did as only one drug. Hope you cope ok with work, but if you need to stop I hope you can say no. Sending positive thoughts xx
