@nib32 i had that a little and I love walking so persevered and it cleared, I also massaged some foot balm in every evening - it was from the good soap company. Everyone’s different but worth a try? Hope it goes xx
@nib32 I use compression socks and gloves under my Suzipads during chemo.
I also wear the compression socks and gloves at home and they do seem to help minimise symptoms.
I’m not very good at linking on here, but I got mine from Amazon (recommended by @lumpybyebye) - the links will be still be there further up this thread ^
@poptart I am using compression socks and gloves, and Suzzipads when possible. Couldn’t use the suzzi last time as there was a 4 hour delay during which time they melted
So this is probably why it’s happened, just looking for how to deal with the after effects….
@nib32 I’ve ordered a TENS machine to try-figure if it’s good enough for labour pains should help a bit?!
Hey ladies, can anyone recommend a nice non alcoholic drink?
I’m not talking about straight forward alcohol free wines or Prosecco or beer, more like a juice / Shloer sparkling concoction.
Sorry if I’m not making much sense!
I seem to remember a while ago someone mentioned a non alcoholic flavoured gin mixed with something else - @lumpybyebye was that you?
@poptart Aldi do a really good alcohol free pink gin, honestly tastes exactly like the real deal! ![]()
@poptart sparkling water and elderflower juice is nice x
Went for a walk earlier and feet didn’t feel any worse for it, and head felt better, so I’ll take that as a win! Just hoping it won’t be a long-term side effect. Am massaging feet cautiously now, but it feels so tender ….
Ah, don’t think the pain is that bad, just hoping it’s not going to be a long term thing. Sorry to hear you’re needing this for your own pain though, and really hope it will help you xx
@poptart Just saw the post … not me Im afraid but I found this site :
and a wee pic for ideas. I go for non alcoholic ciders and yes 0% Guinness when I’m being mindful!

Edit: Avoid Paloma - grapefruit juice, eeeek
@poptart I have really enjoyed non alcoholic rhubarb and ginger gin from Whitley and Neil mixed with Ginger Ale and some fruit. Lovely.
I’ve also tried a non-alcoholic apero spritzer which was nice and came through on the worst ‘tastes like cardboard’ chemo days. I have an M&S one in the fridge but haven’t tried it yet. x
Thanks for your suggestions @Mairead_49 . I agree about sticking to Breast Cancer Now and avoiding Facebook scare stories! What I’ve found seems to be that people either barely get neuropathy at all like yourself, or have got it v badly and oncologist has reduced their dosage. Now, last thing I want is for oncologist to reduce dose as that’s what got me in this mess in the first place I think! Reduce dose results in 4 hour pharmacy delays, results in melted ice pads/packs …
Think I’ll have to keep quiet and just pray it’s temporary. I’m scared though, as walking/ hiking is my no 1 hobby and I’d hate not to be able to do it properly in future.
Talking of delays, when is your next blood test @Mairead_49 ? Hope it will be good and you can get back on schedule xx
@poptart , I really like the Fever Tree Mexican lime soda - on its own or as a mixer
Or even the Aqua Libre cucumber, mint and lime sparkling waters in a nice tall glass over ice
@nib32 blood test tomorrow so at least it’s not on the day and I don’t have to risk the disappointment of last week. Ptaying the Filgrastim has done it’s job ![]()
Everything crossed @Mairead_49 xx
I eventually crept across to Minor Injuries yesterday as I wasn’t happy about one end of my mastectomy scar. I’m on abx now for a little post-op infection and it’s already looking better and I’m feeling chirpier! Since chemo my sense of feeling ‘ok’ seems to be off, and I think my body has become used to feeling unwell or in pain and it takes longer for it to register as needing attention…has anyone else found that?
Yes, 100%!!
I’ve recently been on antibiotics for another chest infection and by the time I went to the GP he said I was really quite unwell and why hadn’t I come in before - I actually said to him, to be honest I find it so hard to know these days whether I’m actually ill or just feeling the usual kind of rubbish from all the meds!?
I’ve got so used to just feeling low key pants most of the time that it has to be really bad before I’m like, ok maybe I need some help!
@rbf yes, I’m most surprised how much chirpier and less teary I feel this morning doh!! ![]()
Just so difficult isn’t it, out new ‘normal’ feels like a low bar at the moment!
Glad you are feeling better, wishing you speedy healing!
Off for radiotherapy number 9 this morning ![]()
@rbf hope it goes well! How are you finding it? I’m waiting for an oncology appointment to get that all jacked up.
