@loupy Yayyy moving forward always good. Feels great having a proper hairdresser visit. Equally manic about it, lol. Wispy stuff was driving me mad but had to persevere until long enough to attempt a ‘style’ - I still look like Me Da ![]()
Radiotherapy planning done and Radiotherapy to start 9th April.
I’ve read horror stories about being expected to walk to the treatment bed topless, etc, but at my hospital we are given a loose v neck top that has poppers at the shoulder, sides and front, so you are only exposed once you are lying down.
My surgery arm/hand did get pins and needles so I will mention that at my first session to monitor for lymphoedema.
All tatt-ed up (barely a sharp scratch) and good to go. On 17th April I have the joy of Radiotherapy in the morning and Chemo in the afternoon! ![]()
Lots of love (again!) for tomorrow @tessie86 xx
@lumpybyebye you look fab! I’m going to get mine trimmed at the sides and back too. It’s about an inch long, but still scalp showing pinkly on top. Kadcyla thins your hair (of course it does
) so I’m wondering whether to keep this crop for the duration.
@lumpybyebye looks fantastic! Can’t wait to get to that point, hair goals ![]()
Injection all done and hilarious comedy “X” marks the spot on my lower armpit! Lol
Thank you all ![]()
@lumpybyebye you look great and thank you for the giggle yesterday.
@dilly ive the same dilema … Anastrozole can cause thinning and loss - on that already. Plus, Ribociclib which is my targetted therapy also leads to hair loss! Hoping if i keep it healthy and fresh it’ll thicken. Eeeek. Still a few thinner patches and my hairdresser said my scalp was looking a bit spotty with new hair coming through, being optimistic. Outward cancer look still pisses me off! Imagine 7yrs of shite hairstyles whilst on drugs. The horror.
Always have my wig! Lol. ![]()

It’s all crap, isn’t @lumpybyebye! I’m thinking keeping it super short must help? It’s been a massive culture shock for me…I had wavy silver hair nearly down to my waist just a year before diagnosis, a bit shorter by the time this whole cancer thing started. I’m having huge trouble moving on from hating my reflection ![]()
You hair is looking amazing… I hope mine looks like that soon.
I’ve had 2 weeks off the thread ![]()
so chatty… but so lovely everyone is so chatty and supportive ![]()
Lots of positive vibes for everyone who has operations this week,
chemos going ahead too and no more delays.
Had a lovely, restful holiday. Just what I needed following the crappiness of chemo. Weather was cold for Canaries unfortunately, but it was good to chill watching films in bed and have someone else making food for 2 weeks
Read somewhere in the thread over the last two weeks… it’s a very chatty thread
… about feeling disassociated from this shit show. I still feel like that and I’m going back to work a week today! I’ve been having psychology session, but don’t feel it’s helped much, I’ve only got one session left.
Had a meeting about my phased return to work. Returning to work seemed such a long way away for so long. Can’t believe it’s next week!
@tigress42 glad you had a lovely holiday, after my appointment today I was thinking about work and returning properly, I’ve worked from home throughout…it’s such a big step. What phased return are you doing? I’m not sure what’s best and don’t want to return do too much and have to go off again!
Wishing you all the best for tomorrow xxx
You look amazing!!
@loupy gosh that looks amazing. Funnily enough I’m thinking of booking us a cruise early next year once this show of sh!te is over. The idea of just rocking up and doing sod all for a few days at sea really appeals right now. x
@tessie86 Thinking of you and sending positive vibes for tomorrow
@tigress42 your holiday sounds great.
We went on a cruise for the first time last year and loved it.
Going back to work must feel daunting after so long. I’m still a way off that (still having chemo). I’m dreaming it, but also kinda looking forward to some normality after so long at home.
@lumpybyebye looking good!!
All the best for today @tessie86 ![]()
