That way i know which side effects are which - obviously. :face_with_spiral_eyes::disguised_face::face_with_bags_under_eyes:

I just ended up booking mine for next week! Changed my mind after another friend also asked me about it so with you guys and her, I decided it was a sign and I should have it.

hi @lumpybyebye - I just wanted to jump on as, in prep for radiotherapy I searched forum for tips - and have avidly followed yours ! spray moisturiser after / silk squares etc / drink water / !

I had my first session at Guys today - staff were lovely aside from miserable receptionist who just pointed ‘sit down there’ before I could say anything….. but all good!

So, thank you for the tips - got none from staff, appreciate they are super busy - but luckily you filled that gap!

lots of love

Awh @jolou delighted I could help somebody :pink_heart: Currently waiting for #12. Using boob moisturiser *3 daily, so far no adverse skin effects but aware they heighten after treatment finishes. Just got a new tube of RT cream today via Jeff which should see me through.
Glad round went smoothly for you - no receptionist to worry about e check in:blush:.

Welcome to another club you didn’t want to be in Glow Girls Shitty Titty Squad

Are you having 15 too? Have you had many side effects? fatigue? I’m very good at imagining symptoms as soon as I know about them of course!

next thing to worry about is ribociclib…

@jolou Hello :waving_hand: just out of #12 of 15 radiographer said I had lovely skin! She also said as it is well looked after I may not get any issues after rads … wait and see lol.
Fatigue came after about #6 10days along with occasional zappy pain in the boob. Nothing that warrants painkillers. After chemo all a bit more pain tolerant I think!
Ribociclib starts for me May. As I’m on SSRI i need to cross taper onto another type SNRI as it doesnt play well with Ribo! Consequently, bloomn medical menopause symptoms breaking through again! So side effects could be muddled with that.
Honestly Jo, take it a day at a time and lean into the humour, my tactic. Today i said lets get these eggs fried! Can’t help but giggle as they adjust the bed with the boob jiggles. 20mins done. You’ve got this.

I’m same as you @Mairead_49 not sure I want more chemicals, esp now I’ve finished chemo. Felt more necessary in winter. But not decided!

@Jaygo I have had the same thing too. Please do let us know what your BCN says as going onto the Kadcyla too so I guess our immune systems will be a bit rubbish again.

Ah @lumpybyebye how nice to be told you have lovely skin

@lumpybyebye what was the non hormonal medication you mentioned for the menopausal side effects? I’m really struggling with those , I have an appointment with the GP in a couple of weeks and want to go armed with info! :folded_hands:t2:

Hey ladies, I also had the Covid booster invitation today. I was going to book it but now I’m not sure?!! Argh!

Also, I’m just home from the hospital having had my port removed  YAY!

@Mairead_49 the port removal was very straightforward and much quicker than the insertion.

The local anaesthetic stung for about 30 seconds and after that I felt nothing other than a bit of pushing and pulling. The port was out in less than 10 minutes and it took about half an hour to stitch me up. I was allowed to eat and drink straight away (a lovely NHS chicken sandwich, a mini packet of bourbon biscuits and a cup of tea!)

Because I only had local anaesthetic and no sedation I was allowed to leave after an hour. I only have a medium sized plaster covering the area and I’m not allowed to get it wet for 10 days. I’m back in 7 days for a wound check. I was told to take paracetamol if needed.

Good luck for your port removal on Monday - it’s so much better both mentally and physically than the insertion. Another milestone reached toward the end game

:waving_hand:@rbf I am post menopause naturally so previously on HRT and citalopram. Cancer. Bye bye HRT over a few months. Shitshow commenced. Free from symptoms. Menopause passed. Fast forward. Medical menopause due to chemo and anastrozole (estrogen inhibitor). Back to menopause symptoms. Knew straight away saw Dr. got Oxybutynin- it eases flashes and sweats. Citalopram (can’t have this with Ribociclib) being replaced by Duloxetine- helps menopause symptoms in particular bone pain as well as mood stabiliser / brain fog.
This is what is working for me and compliments the ongoing years long adjuvant therapies.
Basically something for brain and something for pain!
Karen :pink_heart::shamrock::pink_heart::shamrock::pink_heart::shamrock:
Oxybutynin 2.5mg *2daily (can be dbld)
Duloxetine 30mg daily (can be dbld)

So I’m joining the radiotherapy band wagon, had call got CT planning scan on Tuesday….so all the way along I’ve been quite laid back about it and now I’m scared :grimacing: I know you lot will understand…

I keep thinking FFS pull yourself together and then start crying again :joy:

@loupy I’ve got my radio mark up planning session on Tuesday too.

I know what you mean, it’s all a bit daunting.

I’m not looking forward to getting my boobs out again in front of another load of strangers. I know I shouldn’t care, they’ve seen it all before, etc. But I know I’m going to feel very vulnerable laying there naked from the waist up.
