Good idea!
take out fridge half an hour before to want so slightly warms to room temp.
My mum bless her said she was gunna swing by about 8.15 just incase i can’t bring myself to do it!
We’ve got this xx
That’s a very good idea it’s nice to have a check in and that’s what they’re there for! xx
Me too, @buggeringon, for a year. Are we meant to do these ourselves too?! Flippin’ 'eck
Hi, I am also having TC - I start on the 8th, eeek!
I feel exactly hr same as you, overwhelmed by the consent form and side effects document during a very rushed oncologist appointment and feel like I have no information about what’s happening to me other than see you on the 8th?!
Had my PICC line put in today, which wasn’t the most pleasant of experiences but I’m pleased it’s in now, and the nurse who placed it was lovely.
Hope Monday goes well for you, keep us posted!
I think it differs in different areas of the country. Self injecting hasn’t been mentioned to me at all.
Morning all. I’ve been following this thread for a while, so thought I’d say hi. Thought I’d be starting chemo this month but now I think it looks more likely to be November , I reckon. Kind of want to just to get on with it now , so it’s frustrating. Although of course at the same time terrified that it will all just start really quickly and I won’t have time to catch breath.
Wondering what your time frames have been?
Was diagnosed with TNBC in July, with a small lump in right breast. Had lumpectomy 4 weeks ago, huge relief that they got clear margins and no lymph node involvement . Have been told I will have chemo, then RT, but no further info yet. Still waiting for results of genetic test and not got a date yet for first appointment with oncologist …
Wishing you all the very best with your treatments, you’re all already setting an amazing example for me in how you’re coping and supporting eachother.
Morning fellow pink sisters!
I met my Oncologist yesterday who was lovely. I’ll be having 4 x EC Fortnightly, and then 12 x Paclitaxel Weekly. Also steroids, Filgrastim and all that other lovely stuff but I could’nt really take all that additional stuff in.
A positive note is that he’s agreed I can continue with my Mounjaro which I’ve been on for over a year. We are going to see how it goes and review. I was very worried that the chemo plus steroids would have me going backwards in terms of binging whereas with Mounjaro I am able to make much better choices. If it doesn’t work well with the chemo then I’ll stop it of course, but I’m glad he was willing to let me give it a go.
Now to wait for a start date which I expect will be 3 weeks from now.
Hope anyone who had xhemo yesterday or earlier in the week are doing ok?
Hay and welcome!
Rubbish club tie be part of but at last we have each other.
So similar to you i was diagnosed with TNBC begining of september.
They have decided for me to have treatment first then surgery but i think it was because my lump in my right beast was quite big and growing quick. So started treatment tuesday.
I’m so glad you had a good surgery and clear margins and no lympths which is amazing!!
I am also waiting my results from genetics.
I hope you get a date soon for your oncologist
which i’m sure you will!!
We’re all here for you
xx
Good morning ![]()
What amazing news that’s ur oncologists willing to let u see how u go continuing on Monjaro!!
Sounds like you’ve got a good plan now just to start!
Hope you get your date soon!
I had a slightly rough night with a rash appearing so advised by helpline to take piriton and monitor which was fine and all good today! Gave my first accrofil injection last night also so that was a big tick injecting myself ![]()
Nausea still hanging around strong though so gunna speak to them when they call me back!
Have a great day everyone ![]()

How did u find it?
Hope you’re ok?
xx
Well done lovely x
@slc1 thanks so much!! Was wondering if I wouldn’t hear from oncologist til after genetics results, but looks like that need not be the case.
for both of us on that one. Good you got started on treatment so quickly. (I was panicking a bit waiting for surgery, just imagining the lump growing unhindered…)
Hope your injection went smoothly x
@slc1 I did it and v proud of self lol! I used emla cream so didn’t feel a thing. That’s expensive tho, as it’s only 2 doses per tube for £5 or a larger supply for I think £26. I’m going to use it again tonight for confidence-building, then maybe try with a gel ice pack? It felt like a big hurdle overcome when I did it!
Other than that, it’s been stomach pains last night and today, but no nausea or diarrhoea. Intermittent nasty taste in my mouth, and breakfast yoghurt tasted horrid. Temp has been fine everyday.
Things that are helping me at the moment: notebook in which I list my daily meds and a timer on my phone. I also use a docet box so organise all meds for the day in that. I also use my notebook for my temp and any side effects, just so I have a clear picture in case I need to call the helpline.
Well done with your injection @slc1 x How are you doing @capricorn? If I’ve missed off any other starters, let me know and I hope youre doing ok x
Welcome @nib32! The waiting for chemo to start is the very worst! I hope you get a date soon x
@Mairead_49 that first oncology appointment is such a lot to take in! I remember I just sat and said ‘yes’ to everything without really processing it properly!
Thank you @dilly ! Yes, waiting sucks, but at least I am able to prepare myself a bit ( and shop…) Such great tips from you all !
Quick question, are any of you driving yourselves to chemo or is that unrealistic? Annoyingly my other half doesn’t drive ![]()
I’m with you on the waiting front @nib32 its bloomin torture
Hopefully you’ll get more info soon
@slc1 and @dilly with injecting yourself
I was thinking about getting Emla cream but that’ll be very expensive over time. @slc1 did you use anything on your skin beforehand and if not, did it hurt?
Hope everyone else is doing ok!
I was told my genetics could be up to like 6 weeks.
So you will defiantly hear soon from oncology ![]()
I was lead to believe that genetics results will be important at surgery stage for me as having treatment first but yes let’s pray for good results for both of us ![]()
and i was exactly the same imagining the growth but i was reassured in week windows to not worry!
And yes at least you have time to shop ![]()
The injection went well thankyou no problems! xx
Well done you
Great progress and if like u say u try with cream tonight just to gain confidence your be a pro before you know it!!
I had a weird one last night with a rash and called the line and monitored over night.
likewise no temps so far ![]()
today a few tummy pains and still nausea and a little joint pain!
Hope you manage a relatively good day
xx
Hay i never used anything on my skin and it was fine.
Just have to be confident and get it done and honestly it was ok!
No bruise either ![]()
i’m sure they will come in time!
xx
@nib32 my husband drove. It’s a bit of a journey and can be up to an hour dependent on traffic. I did feel suddenly terribly tired at the end of my first chemo treatment, so I wouldn’t have wanted to drive our journey. You could ask about hospital transport?
