I am 3 years post dx.Since surgery in 2006 I have had occasional pain in side, under breast if I turn suddenly. My surgeon put this down to nerve damage from op.It is still there some times worse than others.A few weeks ago I developed skin splitting under good breast[intertrigo]treated and went. Now skin is splitting on treated side and there is an almost constant mild ‘dragging’ or ‘catching’ pain.I see my surgeon for mammo and checkup on 4thNov and will mention it but wondered if anyone had had similar?
Thanks Val
I am also 3 years post dx. I had a mastectomy and immediate reconstruction. Some times when I turn or maybe lean on something or fold my arms I get a sharp pain round the side and under the reconstructed breast. It catches me by surprise because it seems to happen when I least expect it. I think it may be the muscle pulling or nerve damage. Hope this helps a bit.
Love and take care

Hello
I get this when I applaud at a concert or whatever but it is more like an intense spasm from the back round to the front; it takes my breath away. I stop clapping and then it subsides but if it continued then I would definitely pass out as it is extreme.
Very difficult not to clap enthusiastically though …
It didn’t happen before the LD flop though.
Val - I don’t understand why they have damaged your muscle, surely that is not part of the deal? thetrumumshow has also had this inflicted on her and is in constant pain because of it and no one in the medical profession seems to be the least bit concerned or apologetic.
Oh dear, why does anyone even bother with mammography? It is so “poor” when compared to MRI, would not trust it as far as I can spit. False negatives … way too many false negatives …
Hi,
I too experience a very odd pain which takes my breath away. It only comes occasionally, so I keep forgetting to tell my onc.
It comes on the opposite side to my surgery (my left side)and happens often when I am in half sitting, half lying position, if you know what I mean!
When I do get it it scares the daylight out of me,but I know it will pass soon…it feels like a twisted muscle ( hope to goodness thats all it is!)
Nice to know we are not alone,
Take care,
Janxx
