I have not been online for ages but find myself arriving here today.
To cut a long story short Dx 07/07/08 Invasive Ductal Cancer 3.2 cm, nodes 4/4 clear, lumpectomy 08/08/08 followed by 6 FEC and 3 weeks Rads (ended Feb 09) now on tamoxifen.
I found another lump and the breast is painfull this time, it is also hotter than the Non BC breast and hubby thinks there is some localised unexplained brusing. I have on reconisable temperature (lol, i say reconisable as I am in HOT flush city).
I am now doing the waiting game till Monday the 8th when I will see my surgeon.
Please wish me luck and let me know if you have had a similar experiance. Many thanks Lisa
Hi Lisa,
I know it is easier said than done but try not to panic. It could be a cyst. The fact that it is painful and hot sounds like an infection so keep everything crossed.
Thinking of you. Good luck.
Love Debsxxx
Hi Lisa,
If you would like to talk to someone in confidence with a good ‘listening ear’ then please do phone the helpline and have a chat with one of the nurses here, they’re here to support you through this.
Kind regards,
Jo, Facilitator
Thanks Jo.
Thanks also Debs, it would be a welcome bonus if it is infection but I would have to try and find out how infection would have started so long after surgery and ask how to avoid it?
fingers crossed for now and will keep you updated on Monday
Hi Lisa
Just wanted to add my support. You have done the right thing making an appointment so quickly. Best not to sit home and worry but consult the people who will know.
Let us know how you get on, my thoughts will be with you on monday
Andie
Thankyou Andie I appriciate you thoughts
Roll on Monday (i hate the waiting game lol).
Well my appointment was late in the day and he felt the lump and made no comment about it. He asked if I could have a mamogramme and ultrasound today but was told no by the radiographers as I was not booked in for one.
The specialist is going to speak to them again tomorrow and try to get me seen in a couple of days, but if he can’t the appointment could take anywhere form 2 weeks to a month.
So I guess I have to wait again with my fingers crossed etc…
and I will let you know when I hear more myslf.
Thank you all once again for your words of support, it is greatly appriciated.
Lisa
Lisa, hope they get this checked for you quickly as awful for you waiting in the meantime.

Well my mamogramme is booked for the 17th clinic on the 18th but the writen report will not be for a week after the mammo.
Having sleepless nights crying about the mammo as the last time i had one the skin under my breast was ripped and it was so painful. I know that it is unlikely to happen again but, as the breast is painfull even now I am dreading having to put it into that machine again. To be honist I have not known this sort of fear before and it has shaken me to the core.
Regards and best wishes to you all. Lisa
