I had my lump marked today by ultrasound. There were a few problems (arent there bloody always lol) the radiographer couldnt work out which of the lumpy bits of my breast was the lump and kept asking me. I was quite worried because they did the biopsies and not me! Anyway she got the lady in who did the initial biopsies and scans and it was found and marked ready for tomorrow.
Had a mad rush as hospital had not given me a list of things to take in and I did not have a bra with no wires in and a nightie that opens at the front! Rushed to marks and got all of these! (They are doing a fab deal in Marks by the way a dinner for two with food and wine this weekend for tenner)!! Will make it easy Sat night for our dinner!
Anyway the lump is 1cm, which is not that big so that is good.
I am feeling quite ok about everything, no wobbles today and not had to phone my favourite ladies on the BCC helpline for three days! Harrahhh they must be saying!

hiya you’ll be fine to be honest I was in and out same day so didnt need anything with me but bought jammies just in case which were great help after I got home ones that you can pull up for the floor are great because moving your arm in first few days are bit pain ful but good luck hunnie will be thinking of you
Thanks ladies, they have told me there is a chance I will be in over night. I have a bleeding disorder and sometimes bleed and don’t stop lol 18 pints after my son! So they are always a bit over cautious. When I had a sinus operation, went home after three days, and ended up back in there with a bleed and it took them an hour to stop the bleeding as my blood doesnt always clot! But funnily I am not worried about that at all!

Wow this is bizarre i have a blood disorder too its called Von Williebrands Disease, i had a lump just below 2cm, was in overnight and let out the next day.Before my op i had to have plasma injected intraveneously for an hour to thicken the blood.
All went well thankfully hope yours does too, thinking of you. Let us know how you get on.

I am under the Hemophilia Centre at St Thomas’s in London. As I have bled three times I have had endless tests, but they can’t find out what it is! It doesn’t happen often, but they have to keep bloods ready just in case! I wish I did have a dx but there obviously isn’t a test for it! It comes from my dads side of the family as he bled terribly after his wisdom teeth were removed and had to have a transfusion.

Im attend the Haemophilia Centre in the Royal Infirmary Glasgow. I didnt realise i had anything wrong with me until i lost my third baby, this is when they decided to do some tests. It was when i had my first son the discovered this is what i had.
Dont know where its came from cos they tested my family etc. Bleeding from dental work, child birth and acidents causes me to bleed, i dont bleed like a haemophiliac but i just dont clot very easy.
You should ask for a test for this anythings worth a try!! Took me 3 years 3 miscarriages and the birth of my son (10 pints after his birth), for them to do something about it… Go for it its worth a try.

I think they tested me for everything they could test me for!
I am the same bled during child birth, sinus operation, adenoids and tonsils! It is very unpredictable! I lost 18 pints after my son, all my organs started to shut down and my heart stopped! Had to be brought back with those “paddle things”. Ended up in Intensive care for nearly a week. My blood wouldnt clot, they even told my husband they didnt think I was going to make it, but suddenly the factor eight suddenly started to work (i think thats what it was) 15 years ago, but I survived!

Its worth a try cos they tested my 2 boys as well just incase and they are borderline but said if i had a girl she would have had the same as me. Had my eldest at the dentist for an extraction today hes 15 and the bleeding didnt stop for bout 3 hrs i was starting too panic, eventually it has, thankfully.
I just know they took blood tests and checked my bleeding time then came up with this… never heard of it in my life before!! What a name though isnt it haha.

I must admit my last tests were over ten years ago. I was supposed to go yearly for check ups and new tests etc but I admit I did kinda stop going…!
Did you have to have hepatitis B Jabs as well, I did and then boosters.

Ps can someone tell me why a one cm lump is going to need a drain! Surely it would just need stitching up?

Did they say that you need a drain? My lump was 1.8cm and I didnt need a drain. Maybe different hospitals have different procedures or maybe it is the position of the lump.

I thought you only got a drain when lymph glands where removed as the fluid needed somewhere to go

Good luck for op, like the others say it’ll be over in no time. Mine was 1.9cm and I didn’t have a drain. The hole did fill with blood and I sounded like a fine port being poured each time I bent forward, this lasted about a week then my body absorbed the blood as they said it would.
